The HTF DVD Challenge 2004

Well, it's 2004 (almost) and time for another DVD Challenge. I haven't seen anyone else mention it, so I'll start it out if anyone is interested. The challenge rules are as follows (as copied from Mr. Lutter's set-up last year).

1. The object of the challenge is to watch EVERY SINGLE TITLE and EXTRA in your collection.
3. Commentaries are optional (but encouraged).
4. Television titles are excluded from the challenge (movies only folks... watch TV on your own time).
5. The CHALLENGE shall begin at 12:01am on January the 1st, 2004 and end at 11:59 on December the 31st, 2004.
6. This is to track theatrical releases only.

That's the only guidlines. Use this thread to keep track of the titles you watch. Some have much larger collections and can't get through it, so they my decide to skip the extras and just do the films. That's entirely up to you. This is just for fun. No prizes involved if you finish. Just the satisfaction of knowing you watched 'em all. Enjoy.

I thought the same thing last year when I started with about 125 titles. By the end of the year I was at 229 and was about 70 short of seeing them all by the end of the year. It doesn't help that Christmas comes right at the end of the year. I think I added 11 more titles at Christmas, which I still haven't finished watching.

Oh man. I don't know if I have the will to watch the 200 or so bad movies in my 700 movie collection again. I will need to watch about 2 a day to do this. I will try it though.

I've been meaning to do this for about a year. Just yesterday, in between football bowl games I went through my collection of 303 dvds and made the list of which titles I haven't watched in full yet. I'm really bad about getting a new one in and just going to a great scene for demo reasons and then not ever going back to the movie. And the ones I purcashed and really have no interest in them anymore will find their new home in a used sale.

I like this, it's making me watch more stuff !!

It did the same for me last year too. However, towards the end of the year (if you are behind), you will find yourself watching films you really aren't in the mood for, just to mark them off the list. You become a slave to the Challenge. Of course if you get far enough behind (like me), you just end up giving up around the first of December. Let's hear it for last year's quitters!!

I have a feeling I'll end up dropping out, I own SOO many movies, I have over 1000 movies/Tv shows/Concerts etc... That I really doubt I'll have the time, plus my new purchases! Surprisingly I've already watched 8. I'll keep my above list updated....

Here's a question, I only appeared on this forumthis year, and I decided to check the 2003 challenge. It doesn't appear anyone kept up a list? Whassup with that? Did no one step to the challenge?

I doubt I'll make it but, I'll see how far I get....

I know I kept mine up pretty well, and a few others did as well. Most people have collections so large that they couldn't get through, so they just gave up.

We'll see how far I get, but I think it will be a pretty safe assumption that I won't make it. I'm interested to see how far I get...
