With all the advances in science and technology and special effects, plus the current trend of updating old TV shows into movies, has there ever been any talk of a bringing The Bionic Man to the big screen?
If not, what is the possibility that it could be done and done well.

Given inflation, he might need to be called the $60 Million Dollar Man.

| They already made a Six Millon Dollar Man movie back in 1987, it was called RoboCop. |
Nonsense.
Robocop was a retelling of
Frankenstein.
Also one could argue that a $6,000,000 man would just have a pair of new kidneys and a Bentley. Not exciting movie stuff.

They have been talking about a film-version of The Six Million Dollar Man fairly recently. Unfortunately it has been under the suggestion of doing it as a comedy (I believe they even mentioned that Chris Rock was interested) called The Six Billion Dollar Man. Lee Majors would be involved in some capacity.
I'm not making this up.
Movies I would purchase instantly if they were available in their correct aspect ratio:

I just heard on the radio this morning that Jim Carry has signed on as Lee Majors. It will be a spoof.
Peace Out~

Considering Jim Carrey makes $20 million per big budget flick, the film's title role will underplaying his worth.

All interest in this movie has dropped to ZERO! This sounds about as bad as that terrible The Incredible Shrinking Woman from years back!

I don't care if its a comedy or a straight action flick. I can't see paying money for a remake of something if I didn't care for the original! :p)
Although for reasons I can't fathom, I'm looking forward to the Battlestar Galactica remake.

Nah. I find the gender change mildly annoying, cute actress or not.
I guess it's just that the premise had real potential that the first series really botched. C'mon, we start with a multiplanetary civilization slaughtered down to a single fleet of ships caught in a desperate race against genocide, and what did the original series give us? Starbucks' snappy one-liners and asorted cutesy fluff and sitcom humor. Gah! Someone has to do better than that.

The original was pretty lame. For me it was Lee Majors, and the poor cinematography.
The only remake that makes sense is with Jim Carey.

Galactica was one of those space operas that had a lot of potential, but fumbled the ball. Ben Cartwright in a 1930's style Buck Rogers uniform was too lame for me to handle. The Cylons, though, were most cool. Whenever I go to a public restroom, I see faucet handles that remind me of the Cylon helmets. If they could get a good group of actors and a decent plot, then it may be worth a look.

Jim Carrey as Steve Austin? Forget it. It won't get my money. I'll just wait for the DVD sets of the original series when they are eventually released.

I've heard from reliable sources that Carrey's Austin will suffer a horrible voice box injury in the crash, and they will decide to reinstall his speech center in his rectum, so Carrey can do his ever popular "bent over talking ass" routine in the movie! Boy, I never get tired of that.
Truthfully, if they remade this as a serious drama, it would never hold up to the original series. There were so many things that made the original special (slow motion running, the "de de de de de" sound effect for vision, the jumping over buildings obvious backward wound footage) that would now be done with CGI, and would lose their charm. Who really wants to see this, when it's already been done in Robocop, Terminator, etc. So, I'm glad their going to do a comedy spoof/parody. Let the original stand, and let's have some fun with it, just like Charlie's Angels.

I remember Princess Ardala very fondly.
I just noticed on imdb that Twiki was voiced by Felix Silla before Mel Blanc took over. I always thought that was a terrible character, no matter who voiced it. And I love Mel Blanc.
