Genesis on SACD soon
Re: Genesis on SACD soon
The Gabriel era box set should be arriving later this year per the official website:Genesis-Music.com news.news
I still haven't picked up the second box set yet. Is the version of "Tonight, Tonight, Tonight" on the Invisible Touch remix the single version or the complete, original album version?

Not sure about the box, but the import version I have contains the unedited version. I wouldn't have bought it if it was only the remix...that version sucks.

Alright, thanks. I only asked because I noticed the remastered version available on iTunes only has the single edit available.
Re: Genesis on SACD soon
I know I'm late to the game but I just picked up my first SACD-capable player (OPPO 983) and I'd like to get a few SACD's. Early Genesis is a favorite of mine so I'm looking at the Trespass to Wind and Wuthering period. I see that a number of these are listed on Amazon as coming out in the next two months. Is Amazon the best way to get these? Should I be looking to get the box set listed on the Genesis site? You want to upgrade again?!!

Jim, I recently bought the set that includes "Trick of the Tail" to "ABACAB" However, note that the U.S. version of these sets do not include SACD versions, just standard CD and DVD Multichannel mixes of the songs. If you want SACD versions you have to import either the European version which unfortunately have the DVD video based extras in PAL format, or, I believe the Japanese version with has SACD and NTSC video. The downside is that they are more exepensive than what is selling on Amazon. I got my set from elusivedisc.com. The good news is that you can purchase the albums individually, but you would miss out on the bonus discs that are exclusive to the boxed sets.
The Gabriel albums have not been released yet but are scheduled to be coming soon as far as I know.

The 983 plays PAL format so that's not an issue. I'll get one of the imports because I want the SACD versions. Thanks for the tip on elusivedisc.com.

I've gotten the first 2 box sets from HMV Japan -Homepage| ‰¹ŠyCD^‰f‰æDVDî•ñƒTƒCƒg which are sacd with ntsc video. The Peter Gabriel era set is supposed to be out Oct 6. They also have a deal 25% off if you buy 3 "import" CDs. By "import" to them it is non-Japan CDs so Europe counts. Prices are in yen. SHipping is not horrible.Re: Genesis on SACD soon

Any more information on where these are?
Re: Genesis on SACD soon
I pre-ordered the SACD/DVD set yesterday on elusive but there is no ETA.Re: Genesis on SACD soon
From what i've heard the UK versions won't be available in the US til 12/23[blame Rhino for that].Re: Genesis on SACD soon
Thanks guys. I had seen that over at elusivedisc that the PAL version with SACDs was in stock and the NTSC was pre-order. They also had the box set with CDs and NTSC DVDs in stock, but not the SACD with NTCS. It just didn't make any sense to me.Thanks for that tip. At that price, I'll forgo SACD for the 83-98 set (I have the other two in SACD already). I've just ordered it.
