Hellmouth swallows my DirecTV

So I come home, race to the living room to turn on the series finale of Buffy, and my DirecTV tells me CHANNEL NOT AVAILABLE. I subscribe to the local channels and have been watching the Buff on this setup for months.

I run to the bedroom and tune in the show with no problem. During commercials I try to figure out what's wrong in the living room. The local channels are gone! I select them (Hughes box) and immediately they vanish from the bedroom (Sony box).

Can anybody tell me what the *&%! is going on?

I thought I had a problem like this recently, but it turns out my frighteningly old boxes get local channels from those multifeed channels (944+), and the new one actually puts them at their on-air channels.

Maybe it'll work again if you move to Cleveland?
