Looks like the RP-82 and XP-30 are nearly identical and are top rated by hometheaterhifi.com's progressive scan DVD player shotout. Problem is they both seem to be discontinued. What is the current version of these players?

There are a couple more places where you can pick up the XP30. Check out
Pricegrabber.
Be sure to check
Froogle.com as well.
I have the XP30 and it does a fine job.

Jim, the 'RP82 is very difficult, if not impossible, to find new these days. I wouldn't expect the 'XP30 to be much easier to find, as like the 'RP82, it has been discontinued. One major difference between these players is that the 'RP82 handles DVD-Audio and the 'XP30 doesn't. The 'XP50 is more comparable to the 'RP82.
