Since it seems like the Columbia / Sony is not going to release it. I would love to see a nice Blu-Ray of one of my favorites from 1995. Ang Lee's Sense and Sensibility.

Footnote: It is difficult to imagine that it has been nearly 20 years since that was released.

Walter, if you don't want to wait, I believe Sense and Sensibility is out on Blu-ray in the UK.

Andrew - Thanks, I'll check it out on amazon.uk.

Oh, and I'll second Gilda from Matthew's list, just to see "put the blame on mame" in HD. :)

I'm still waiting for a really good looking Hammer Blu, so how about a double bill of, The Gorgon & The Curse Of The Mummy's Tomb (I saw them as a double bill in England, as I'm sure Nick Redman did - if he was a fan of this stuff) plus, Terror Of The Tongs. The DVD's look great, & it does say mastered in HD on the box. The long version of that bitter war film, The Victors. Lord Jim, a very poor DVD, soft & with muted colours, I wonder if Sony have got around to remastering it yet?

Sony has released "The China Syndrome" in Germany on a region-free pressing for $10 Euros...which converts to US$15...it's authorized Sony/Columbia product, so you can be assured of quality control and decent picture/sound...

    Would love:

The Bitter Tea of General Yen
    Cat Ballou
    Macbeth (Polanski)
    A Man For All Seasons
    Suddenly Last Summer

And since they put out Bell, Book and Candle, how about the next Richard Quine film, that also co-starred Jack Lemmon and Ernie Kovacks... It Happened to Jane starring Doris Day.

There are others, but those top my list.

Since each of film lasts about 75 minutes, Twilight Time could make them double-features on blu-ray, including the documentary A MAN CAN DO THAT with the isolated scores, commentaries and featurettes.

I recently got the German discs of The China Syndrome and Tootsie. Both are excellent. (They would top my TT wish list, but I'd rather see them focus first on films unavailable on blu elsewhere,)
