The one film you want most on Blu-Ray. Your 'Holy Grail' so to speak.

Tough call for me. Although I'd love to see 'Housekeeping' released(with many special features) I guess I'd rather have NOSFERATU from 1979, done perfectly with tons of new features.

Remember, the sky's the limit.

THE BRIDGE ON THE RIVER KWAI.

I know it's coming eventually... I'd like that to be in my lifetime.

Great choice, Steve.

I listed a bunch of choices in another thread, but since this is a 'Grail' thread the one title I will mention is

Once Upon A Time In The West.

There are films I like more and would rather have, but because they'll never be released in my lifetime, I'd have to say the original, non-special edition versions of Star Wars and The Empire Strikes Back.

And The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the Eighth Dimension.

Well considering "The Magnificent Ambersons" as well as a silent boxset of Greed, The Big Parade, The Crowd and The Wind have all been due from Warners for years now, it would go a long way to mending ties if they did a blu-ray release of those films.

PS: I'm gonna be pissed if any of those titles get dumped on DVD via the Warner Archive...

Roots in its original eight part version with the openings restored, including: George Hamilton riding through the countryside singing and Chicken George returning from England through the countryside on a horse with beautiful shots. I can't believe WB says they aren't aware of any missing footage! Go to the Museum of TV in New York. It's there to view daily!

So many GREAT titles already mentioned most of which I would buy on release day! There are so many more but of the top of my head, El Cid.

Oh wow, there are a lot -- but I'll keep it to two:

"Cleopatra" (1963-as complete as possible) and the Robert Gitt/UCLA restoration of "Becky Sharp"

I'd like in no particular order.

Raiders Of The Lost Ark. ( Sequels too )

Lawrence Of Arabia.

The Big Country.

Night Of The Demon.

Singin' In The Rain.

From Beyond.

Meet Me In St. Louis.

The Great Escape.

Jaws.

E.T. ( Original with guns edition please )

Munich.

Jurassic Park and Jurassic Park 3 ( you can keep number 2 The Lost World as i think it's crap )

On Her Majesty's Secret Service

You Only Live Twice

Goldeneye

Tomorrow Never Dies

The Living Daylights

Star Trek: The Motion Picture ( Robert Wise restored edition )

The Tall Men

Star Wars Episode 1 -6 ( Beef up the sound on episode 2 and 3 - Knowing Lucas and the sound mixers he has working for him they willl do the opposite and tame the great bassy sound of episode 1 )

The Howling

Ryans Daughter

Vera Cruz

The Blob ( 80's version )

Hard Boiled ( If they do a better job than they did for Woo's "upconverted looking" The Killer )

High Plains Drifter

Firefox ( uncut please )

Apocalypse Now ( original and hey 2.35:1 - it won't happen while Storaro is alive but i can dream )

Legend ( European cut )

Phenomena ( Argento )

Suspiria ( Argento again - UK soundtrack mixed with a proper restored image that doesn't suffer contrast issues would be nice )

Deep Red ( Argento yet again )

Opera ( Yes Argento agaaaaaaain )

Conan The Barbarian ( hopefully with fixed sound or a mono option )

True Lies

Pearl Harbor - Directors Cut

Titanic

Dances With Wolves ( 4 hour cut )

Zombi 2 aka Zombie Flesh Eaters

Once Upon A Time In America

Once Upon A Time In The West

Marathon Man

I probably forgot about a few that i really like but this list will do for now.

Lawrence of Arabia.

After being promoted on some early Sony BD releases as 'coming soon' it has all but disappeared. No mention of when it is actually coming, and a few years have already passed. I can only hope the delay means a whiz-bang release when it does finally arrive. Hopefully an 8k scan of 70mm elements ala Baraka, with very high bitrates ala Avatar. That would be something to behold indeed.
