Remember it? It's permanently etched into my retinas from years of getting up at 5:30 on Saturday AM, getting a bowl of cereal, turning on the tv - sound down so no one would be bothered by the 1,000 cycle test tone - and eating my cereal while watching the test pattern waiting for The Adventures of Superman to come on at 6:00AM. Mom could never understand how she'd have to literally drag me out of bed to go to school but I'm up with the chickens on Saturday - no alarm needed. :D

Motivation. I used to get up at 7 AM for Super Friends on Saturday mornings. Adventures of Superman as I recall was usually on Sundays at around 11 AM. Nowadays, getting up at 8 AM is extreme for me. Oh and forget the cereal bowl, I just grabbed the box and would pop Kix like candy waiting for the shows to come on. Mom was never pleased with me when she woke up.

I was just thinking... imagine if the forum were to have a convention where we all bring our collections and just have screening parties for three to four days. I shudder to think of the arguments that might break out over what we all would watch next and what show was better than what, but, oh what fun it would be and what a fantastic way to celebrate and inspire others in our hobby of choice.

Good grief, that's a scary thought. But seriously, how many days would that convention last with fitting in all those episodes, especially if you fitted in fTV movies, feature length episodes and multiple-part episodes?

With Auf Wiedersehen, Pet you'd need to have subtitles on to understand what some of the characters are saying. The X Files is a fond favourite and Twin Peaks is one of David Lynch's best works, period.

Am kicking myself for forgetting to include Magnum, p.i. in my Top 10 all time favourite TV shows list. You're trying to come up with a list of ten shows which you would have in the Top 10 list, but some shows slip from your mind.

"Memories" This was the test pattern for the CBS affiliate sta in Dallas from long ago.
Great posts / lists in the thread.
If I had to choose 10 shows, I think my list (for today, would probably change tomorrow) would look like:
1 Combat! (1962) & The Fugitive (1963) . Can't pick between these 2 for #1, always a tie for me
2 Tme Tunnel (1966) Probably my favorite SciFi show
3 Bionc Woman (1976) Met Lindsay Wagner a few years ago, adds to the memories for me
4 Big Valley (1965) One of my top "rewatchability" shows
5 Sue Thomas FBEYE (2002) This is one of the best shows that I've seen and was unknown to me until my good friend Gary plugged me into it.
6 Rich Man Poor Man Book 1 Miniseries 1976) My #1 Miniseries
7 Dick Van Dyke Show (1961) My #1 Sitcom
8 Rifleman (1958) #1 "watch after school" Western
9 Shogun Miniseries (1980) #2 Miniseries
10A Earth 2 (1993) Probably my #2 SciFi show after "Time Tunnel"
10B Firefly (2002) This one was one of my biggest blind-buy surprises. High rewatchabiliy factor.
A few that just missed my 1st-pass top 10 list:
- Mannix (1967)
- Father Knows Best (1954)
- Donna Reed Show (1958) I've only seen S1 so far but based on S1, this one rates high for me.
- 12 O'Clock High (1964)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Lassie would easily have been in my top 10 list but the "Ranger" years didn't do a lot for me so I left it off this list... but that means that it would be added to tomorrow's list. As with most of you guys, these kinds of lists change from day to day.
The ones that are locked on on almost any version of my lists are in bold.

Wow, tough to choose 10 but here goes.
1. I Love Lucy
2. Bewitched
3. Star Trek TOS
4. The Mary Tyler Moore Show
5. WKRP in Cincinnati
6. Northern Exposure
7. Frasier
8. Star Trek Voyager
9. That Girl
10. The Bob Newhart Show
Two that are not necessarily in my top 10 but that I loved, but didn't do more than a few episodes and have kind of disappeared and I believe are worth mentioning - Out of Practice and Kitchen Confidential.

Have to be limited to between two and four days, depending on where we could find that would be cheap enough to host, yet with a large enough space to safely store our collections in between screenings.

Love to do it, but something like this would require SO much planning, forethought and organization. I do not know off the top of my head what the best location to host would be.

Knew this might happen. You see, as I went through people's lists (and not the second lists some people have posted), I'd chosen Dallas for example. Then when I looked at another poster's list the only show I liked out of their list was Dallas as well. So I had to pick a different show from the first person's list. If that confuses you, I'm not surprised! lol

Never saw The Invaders and Allo! Allo! in your Top 10 list. My previous post corrected. It's easily done. You're going through people's lists, some lists have the same show(s) in them, and it gets confusing.

Would so like to see a big screen Remington Steele movie.

Typo in my post which you replied to. Should have read "especially if you fitted in TV movies".

Yes, it would take a lot of planning to organise a convention/screening event like this.
