WTB - First HT system- Ontario Canada (1 Viewer)

Hey im looking to buy my FIRST home theater system

budget of around $500 max (Canadian - works out to be about 400 american)

It should be 5.1 sorround, used primarily with my computer based home theater system (Shuttle XPC, 6 channel digital output)

hmmm... any other details i should include?

im frustrated with not being able to buy anything online because of the massive shipping/exchange rates/cross boarder fees from the states!!

any suggestions or advice would be GREATLY appreciated

by the way i was looking at the Rocket Tykes systems, which i found pretty intersting except i see no way of getting ahold of them without the massive shipping - apparently here in toronto im still in the middle of an igloo

Yeah. I'd say if you want to keep it in budget, look for HTIB (Home Theater in a Box) stuff from Yamaha etc at places likes Future Shop, 2001 Audio Video etc. When they go on sale, they can be pretty good. An ok start I guess.
