Regarding 1 handed use, check this:http://appleinsider.com/articles/14/07/03/alleged-47-front-panel-for-apples-iphone-6-handled-on-camera-to-show-one-handed-use?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter
Bummer if true. Had hoped the overall thin-ness and tiny bezels would make the 4.7 more 1 hand friendly. It's going to be really interesting to see Apple's messaging here. The way I see it they have 3 ways to spin it:-Not even mention it at all and let people make up their own minds-Claim that in fact the size and small bezels DO let people use it one handed, possibly add software to assist-Claim that it's worth giving up 1 handed operation and that their research shows this to not be a big factor for most users (and that Samsung was right)If they go with #3, that could be an even bigger argument from them for the ultra big 5.5 if that does in fact materialize. Go big or go home. Speaking from my own perspective I don't like the idea going in, and in a world where Apple did not exist I think I would still avoid the Note form factor in an Android only environment. We'll see. I'll be sure to bake some crows in a pie for the eventual keynote...

Been reading the articles about the sapphire glass.

    It is very impressive.

I have never had an issue with scratching the glass on any
of my phones. I always make certain to place my phone in
an empty pocket void of keys.

But I squirm when I see my brother (who is not as anal over
taking care of things as I am) putting the phone in the same
pocket that is being shared with his screwdriver.

It's going to be a very tough choice over phones in September.

(Wow we are only two months away)

Obviously, the bigger iPhone 6 is going to be tempting.

However, reading early spec leaks, I think the Galaxy Note 4
is going to edge out the iPhone in specs. In some ways I care
about specs when it comes to memory and camera. Image
stabilizer is rumored to be in the Note 4.

...and I love my Android operating system more than I did iOS.

However, I keep coming back to compatibility and handoff features
that iOS and OS X share. If you own multiple Apple products, the
    iPhone integrates perfectly with them.

Really, I don't know which way to go. The watch will be the thing
that teeters that decision one way or another.

What if there's no "delay", but instead all the analysts are just wrong in their predictions? Apple may have no plan to release a monster iphablet in 2014.

That's the same thing, no larger Iphone or delayed another year.

BTW I refuse to use the iphablet word, sounds silly. Like those soap opera names of couples that get combined into one name.

Just call it what it is iPhone.

I just locked in my iPhone 5 for $205 of Amazon Credit via Gazelle.com, so assuming a 8/9 announce and 8/19 release I will have until 10/10 to send it in and get my cash. yes you can get a bit more on CL and Ebay but the hassle is not worth it to me. If a better offer comes along I'm not legally obligated to send to Gazelle so it's win win in my book. This will be my 3rd iPhone traded in to them. So, whatever Apple announces this fall I'm upgrading.

Maybe a good time to lock in my iPad, Sam.

Would you agree that the new iPad will be released around the same time?

I locked in a quote for my iPad Air but I fully expect that to expire before I take advantage of it, and I think I can sell an iPad easier than I could an iPhone. It can't hurt to get a quote now, costs you nothing and you are under no obligation. But I don't expect new iPads till November. Hopefully I'm wrong but I don't think they've ever done new iPads and iPhones at the same time have they?

Gazelle prices for iPads are much lower than you can get private party: $300 vs $400+

It was a pretty good article. At first, I thought it was a belated rehash of well-worn rumors. But he did a good job of trying to suss out what's likely, given Apple's tendencies.

More than resolutions, I'm most interested in whether Apple really releases two new iPhone sizes! Andy Ihnatko was previously discussing how the expected hardware leaks for the 5.x" phone weren't there, and was dismissing that rumor. However Gruber is embracing it as likely. And maybe recently, Andy is saying it's looking more likely.

    I don't know...but will in a couple weeks!
