"Wings" (1927) and "The African Queen" (1 Viewer)

OK... here we are in 2010 and another full year has passed without seeing these movies that we were promised were worked on or finished years ago - and have yet to surface on DVD.

What is the holdup with Paramount on these titles?

Actually another decade has passed without these titles. I too hope they come on DVD or Blu-ray soon. What is taking so long!

Great... Now how about WINGS which looked just fine on the Laser disc transfer. Shouldn't have been a lot of restoration needed? Has been promised ever since 2004!

That assumes that the passage of time has had no effect on the elements, and that the LD transfer isn't riddled with EE like nearly every LD port that was released on DVD in the early days. The industry is now mastering for BD standards, which means that the elements need to be handled carefully and restored if deemed necessary. "Looked fine on Laser Disc" doesn't cut it these days.
