Just got high speed cable and have had my first experience with streaming. Netflix "super HD" certainly doesn't look very super or HD to me, while VUDU HDX looks more like I had hoped HD streaming would look. Is it the compression algorithim or something? Can anyone explain why there is such a big difference.

From what I could dig up, the top bitrate for SuperHD is 5800kbps. HDX can go as high as 9000kbps. Both use h264 codec.

So what you're seeing is what you're getting.

Thanks Revgen. I've noticed that since the Netflix deal with Comcast the HD has been much more stable and HD "super". Got to love these mega corporations.

Codecs matter, but so do the behind the scenes deals that the content providers wrangle with the pipes, both your ISP and the long haul big bit buckets.
