I agree with Micah. None of my tattoos are visible under clothing, and I am not the type of person you'd expect to be tattooed (I'm a middle aged lawyer, careful and disciplined and sort of obsessive) and people are just AMAZED when they find out I have tattoos. Only the few people I hot tub (or get otherwise compromised with) have ever seen them. They are my own little secrets.

Don't know if his Bar Code was a copy of a orignal code or not. The few times he tried scanning it in a store nothing registered. Don't think that particular code was entered in their data base? :)

i can't comment on whether or not a barcode would work in a store but i suggest you find a really good tattoo artist if you're considering a barcode. despite their simple appearance...barcodes are hard to tattoo. very straight thin lines on a curved human body can be quite difficult to reproduce. this requires a very steady hand by a skilled artist. whatever you decide, research your artist...ask to see his or her portfolio (any artist worth anything has one) and don't foget to tip the artist (if you feel the work is good naturally).

I got Jenny (our designer here -- no hanky panky) to shave my back last week, come to think of it. I was gonna call you, Ron, but it's a heck of a commute. I had it waxed once -- more than you need to know -- and all it did was give me a better appreciation for what dames go thru for us guys.

But like Janna says, no one here knows. It's our little secret.

If you tell, I'll hunt you down and kill you.

Damn, Christina...

Oh, and doesn't Cole (Bruce Willis) have a bar code tattooed on his head in 12 MONKEYS? If you have one of these can you throw yourself bodily across the checkout computer and "ring yourself up"?

A friend of mine got a bar code tattooed on his wrist. It won't scan anymore, as the lines have faded/blurred with time, but when it was fresh he could swipe his wrist and ring up as a box of tampons! :D I'm serious, too...lol!
As far as me, I've got one tattoo - a combination of a yin-yang and smiley faces, on my upper right arm where it's covered by my shirt. The design and my reasons for getting it are posted in my weblog on my site.
For the longest time I wanted to get some tribal work done on my arms, but I wanted to have it done with a UV ink so it wouldn't show under normal lighting, but would glow under the blacklights in a club. Unfortunately, true UV ink isn't safe to use for tattoos from what I've told, and the white inks that will glow aren't completely invisible under normal lighting. Bummer! :)

I have 4 on my right arm the top one is the Japanese symbol for Drum(I'm a drummer) the middle one is my Birthsign(Taurus) done so it looks like stone and the bottom 2 that are next to each other are the Symbols for Strength and Honor(yes from Gladiator) also Japanese.
If and when you do decide to get one make sure it is what you want and not what some said you "should" get.
and it only hurts a little:D

Okay, no offense, but WHY would you get a GD dancing bear? I want to ask everyone who ever gets a dancing bear and a tasmanian devil and a black panther... Why on earth would you get something that millions of other people ALSO HAVE?

I used to know artists who would politely escort you out of their shop if you asked for a dancing bear or a tasmanian devil.

Why not get an original design? Am I off base here?

I have a huge TAZ tattoo on my back. In one hand he's holding a Confederate flag and in the other hand he's got NASCAR on his brass knuckels. My Taz is also wearing cool Oakley sunglasses and mesh shirt with BEER written on it. On my shoulder I have a tattoo of an 8-ball and on my chest I have a crying Indian. I don't know why I got the crying Indian... I just thought it looked cool.
All sarcasm aside, I have three tattoos and they are nothing like the ones I described above. I hope to design another one in the near future.

One of my best friends owns a tattoo shop here in town and for a Christmas present he gave me a celtic tribal tat across the width of my shoulders. You should try to design one with the artist you will use. I did and I'm happier with this one than the one that I have on my abdomen and chest that I didn't help on.

My last tattoo was one that I designed and drew. Since then the idea of not drawing my own tattoos is moot.

And, duh, on my part for even missing your sig line, Jeff.
Hehe ok now that saves me from some witty reply like the Dead are (were?) the best damm band in the world:) Actually I have thought about lots of Dead designs. I just like the bears and figured it would cost less than somethimg more complicated.

I designed all of mine and selected the colors with particular care. Three of my tattoos (two of which have hidden images) are designs related to my affection for animals. I can't imagine wanting an unoriginal design inked onto my body.

I have my wife's name in a heart on my left butt-cheek. I did it as a birthday present for her.

Hope she doesn't dump me as she has a unusually spelled name

You will know if you see a personal ad for

Three

1. Elektra on left side of left leg from ankle to knee

2. Very detailed green eyes, rose red lips and perky little nose of a beautiful lady on left triceps.

3. Right hip... lets just say it involves some sort of interaction between two women.

I want a fourth but I can not find a good enough picture nor any one to draw it. It is of the spider on Spider-Man's chest from the late 70's early 80's (I think).
