    Hi

Just wondering which settings on your TV or DVD Player cause these White Highlights??

You know the things i am talking about!!
The reflections of peoples faces or foreheads are pure white.
Or if somthing has a lot of white in it it really looks exceedingly bright to look at.

I have controls for Bightness'Gamma'Hue'Saturation and Contrast and trying to reduce this.

    Thanx

    Reduce Contrast, Brightness, or both.

If you've really got a Gamma control, be cautious.

    It's a powerful control, and it's a dangerous control.

To paraphrase Mr. Olivander's commentary, it can be used for great things. Terrible, but great.

With caution, it could be used for good.

But, continuing with Wayne's advice, not only reduce brightness (some) and contrast (more,) also try reducing the gamma (slowly!)

What is your display, and what exactly is the problem?

You could be white clipping, you could be blooming, you could just be viewing what's in the source, etc. All depends on what your setup is.

Some films have that. Try not to change gamma and such settings.
