It was a lot simpler 4 years ago before anyone knew all of this would take off. Anything that wasn't super popular, you just assumed wouldn't come out and you transferred it. Now, you never know what is going to come out. When shows like the Stockard Channing Show, Tabitha, Blue Thunder and Honey West, all shows I had transferred already from either broadcast or film chain masters, come out, it becomes difficult to know. Certain shows are easy because they've already come out in mutated form (Alf, 1st season Cosby Show, any Stephen Cannell series). The tricky part comes with shows that seem to have been abandoned but as Mad About You proves, you can never be sure. Short run stuff by any studio other than Sony seems to be safe. Just curious as to what everyone else is doing. By the way, remember all of the doomsayers predictions about tape not lasting? Unless you used Brand X crap, or reused the tapes several times, good quality tapes seem to hold up for 25 years at least and look like they were recorded yesterday.
