When using a progressive scan player...? (1 Viewer)

If I hook up a progressive scan player to my Toshiba 50H82 do I have to somehow disable the TV's line doubler and enable the DVD line doubler or will it take care of itself when I hook it up?

You'll have to select progressive output on the DVD player. The TV will figure it out on its own.

As long as your DVD player is set for progressive you have nothing else to do. The H81 and apparently the H82 will convert it to 540p anyways... No 480p passthough with the Toshiba unfortunately..

Thats a good question. Most people will tell you yes, that it does indeed provide for better pic quality. As to why, i dont have the answer.. The spot forum has some threads on this issue with the Toshibas.. Check it out.
