Just curious. I went with the Goldstar as I liked the look a bit better than the first Panasonic units. I waited until 3DO started bleeding badly and offered the player for $400 with a 4-game bundle.

It must have been around $300 with an employee discount. Played the hell out of Road Rash and Guardian War.

I think I was in the $400 zone... Can't remember for sure, and I wish I still had the thing.
There's never been a better console version of "Road Rash" or "Need For Speed" since...

Never bought one, always wanted it for SSF2 Turbo tho. I think it was the only system to get the game until the last year or 2

Paid about £180 for one in its later days, the Goldstar incarnation. Do I regret it? No, got enjoyment out of it, still have it in storage in fact...

It started at $699 not $800, cause I bought it within the first week of its launch. I had a good time with it, but oh do I wish I had that money now.
It was funny because Babbages usually only got 1 or 2 copies of the games in and they would often demo them so on more then one occasion I went home with an empty box.

I got the 3D0 when it was at around $399 and I had a friend who worked at Circuit City that I gave my money to, and he got me the discount. It was a great system for the time. I really loved Star Control 2, Samurai Showdown, Need for Speed and I loved how Road Rash would play some music videos if you left it on pause long enough!!!

I picked one up at around $400. I can't remember all the games I owned except for Out Of This World. I also got a Sega CD at launch. After these two burned me, I took a couple of years off from videogaming. I picked up a Playstation in 1997 when I saw the commercial for FFVII and have been back at it ever since.

I bought it when it was around $500. Crash-n-Burn was playing on a Babbages monitor and, it grabbed me. I never saw anything like it before and, it made me forget about the Amiga CD32.
Even though it certainly wasn't the piece of hardware that people initially thought it would be, the 3DO still holds a warm spot in my heart. I had alot of fun with some of the games on that system.
I still like 3DO's version of Need for Speed the best. That irritating guy in the FMV is pretty good, imho.
Bought the ugly ass Panasonic unit. Purchased Super Wing Commander and Escape from Monster Manor the same day I took the 3DO home.
Monster Manor was my very 1st FPS. I loved it...'till I found out what all the hubbub about Doom was when I 1st played that on the PSX.

OMG - I cant belive I forgot about the Need For Speed GUY!
"So what do ya want a hero biscut?"
He was the most annoying thing Ive seen in a game, and I loved that version because of him. I got the PS version about a year later - the graphics were better but I couldnt figure out why I didnt like it as much... There was no annoying guy.
And thats the 1 3DO game I cant find *sigh*

Joe,
If you're not scared of eBay, there's usually a few floating around there. They don't seem to sell for much more than $10-15...

I've had sealed copies of Fifa, Foes of Ali, Road Rash, Need For Speed, and Space Hulk for a few yeas, but I never got around to actively looking for a system. I suppose I should do that sometime soon.

Speaking of Space Hulk...did any of you guys that played it, actually ever FINISH it?!!? I found it to be SOOOOOO friggin' hard, it has reserved a spot in my memory as one of the hardest games I've ever played.
I got several missions into the campaign but, it just got so hard that I'd spend hours examining my next move only to have one of my guys die, and then the whole thing would just fall apart.
GREAT voices/audio in the game though. Really sounded like you were part of a real team.
