Plenty of PC's will actually allow you to boot from a USB Device, so that should be an option.

I haven't done it yet, but with 1GB USB flash drives for as little as $59 (Tigerdirect.com Memorex), they open up a whole lot of options up as far as booting your PC into different environments. Got to look into a Linux boot drive like that...
