Mine is without a doubt Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas

That movie was just plain AWFUL, which is too bad because Johnny Depp is one of my favorite actors.

You haven't seen many movies if the worst you can think of is that!

The absolute worst movie I've ever seen has to be Manos, The Hands of Fate. The scary thing is that it's scary because of the shockingly bad filmmaking.

I have a sinking feeling this is gonna be a loaded question around here. [IMG]
I've seen plenty of pretty awful films throughout the years but if I have to pick just 1 it's: The Manitou

    Forrest Gump, no question.
But, I saw Spiderman tonight, and that's in the top 5. Considering I didn't spend money on FG (borrowed the VHS from a friend), but I did on Spiderman, that might tilt things further toward the webbed one.

    Sigh.
I'm sincerely NOT trying to question or devalue anyone's opinions, but movies like Forrest Gump, Spider-Man, or even the admittedly weak Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas could NEVER rank among the worst films ever made. You may really detest them, and that's absolutely legitimate, but you gotta admit that there's some quality in there...be it cinematography, art direction, music, editing, etc.
I've seen (and continue to see) movies that have none of those! Nobody loathes Patch Adams as much as yours truly, but there are enough 'professionally adequate' segments of the film that instantly preclude it from being 'the worst'. (i.e.: Philip Seymour Hoffman's performance ALONE would prevent this vile dungheap from being the worst...)
If Forrest Gump is the worst film you ever see, I envy you. You're in for a lifetime of consistently excellent films. Take a look at any of the MSTied movies. THOSE are among the worst films ever made. Bert Gordon, Ed Wood, and Coleman Francis make Paul Anderson look like Alfred Hitchcock.
And modern movies are just as bad, only to find the TRULY wretched ones - you must diligently search through the video stacks. There's an unending supply of z-grade monster movies, low-rent jiggle flicks, carbon-copy 'crime thrillers', and action flicks that casually rip off whatever's popular at the time.
    Forgive me for rambling on...
If the question is "What's your least favorite film?", I'd have to say Ringmaster. Is it the worst film I've ever seen? No freakin' way. (It's got Jaime Pressly in it, silly!)
If the question is "What's the absolute worst movie I've ever seen?", I sincerely could not say. I've seen a whole lot of 'em and the truly awful ones generally fade from memory to make room for better things. But I'd be willing to bet it's one of those MST3K ones! [IMG]

I have to agree with Scott. If the worst movies you've seen are Forrest Gump, Spider-Man, Grease or even the bad Battlefield Earth, well, consider yourself very lucky! There are a lot of movies that are worse than that.

Well in terms of bad production values etc. I don't really know. Some cheesy film I saw somewhere on cable that was either badly acted porn or the Harlem Globetrotters on Gilligan's Island or some such.

But there's another type of 'worst' movie. One so pathetically boring that it doesn't matter if the actors can act or the cinematographer knows how to use a camera. It's still a bad movie even though many others will love it.

And for me, the worst movie is Cries & Whispers.

The thing is, why should any discerning film fan ever see a movie that's worse than Battlefield Earth? If it's good, you'll know it because it'll be well praised. If it's truly awful, you will know to stay away from it. So, how does anyone even see these films that are worse than Battlefield Earth?

Well, you don't always know what to expect before seeing a movie. I've seen lots of movies on TV that are worse than Battlefield Earth.

This kind of poll has little credibility because a lot of time, instead of an honest answer, you get people with a agenda - Spiderman, Forrest Gump, Grease [IMG]
I am surprised we made to the 10th post without anyone mentioning Titanic or Armageddon yet.
The worst movie I have seen, and this goes for the majority of people is some B movie on TV whose title I can't even remember today. And there are a plethora of titles out there like that - with a little thinking, I am sure we can all remember at least one of those atrocious movies.
Right above that category of low production value movies, the worst I can think of Striptease with Demi Moore.

Well, the worst movie I can remember is Night of the Zombies with porn star Jamie Gillis. I watched this way back when I was into horror movies and was expecting a living dead chomp-fest. What did I get? Crap. [IMG]

    "Professionally Adequate"
I like that [IMG] I loath Gump, Patch Adams, Men in Black, and several other "blockbusters", but they aren't even close to the worst movie I've ever seen. Ever watch USA Up All Night?
The worst movie I've ever seen is I Spit On Your Grave. I don't even like mentioning it because then I have to remember that I've seen it, and unfortunately, I'm unable to forget it. You'll find it next to Excrement in the dictionary.
