what's next for 20th Century Fox (1 Viewer)

Now that Voyage to the bottom of Sea S4-V2 is finally out, it makes me think what is next in their archives:


1. Journey to the Center of Earth Cartoon

2. Fantastic Voyage Cartoon

3. Journey to the unknown

4. Felony Squad


Anyone have any thoughts?

At this point I'd just settle for (1) Fox finally letting VCI do the rest of "Burke's Law" and (2) finishing Bob Newhart Show and (3) resuming "The Big Valley". Anything after that doesn't matter (and I am leaving "Batman" out of the equation beacuse I just don't think it'll ever appear and I'm happy enough with the alternative until then).

Does 20th Century have dibs on the Filmation Cartoons? If they do I'd like to thrown in Lassie's Rescue Rangers.

BURKE'S LAW Season 2 may be on the way. Green Hornet expert, Terry Salomonson, has an article in the January 2011 issue of Classic Images, about the Sept 2010 Mid Atlantic Nostalgia Convention, and stated in the article: "VCI Entertainment was set up to display their wares....This reviewer was able to ask VCI when season two of "Burke's Law" was scheduled for release and I am pleased to say it won't be long." That's still pretty vague but it gives us some hope.

They only have the cartoons based on their properties, "Lassie's Rescue Rangers" is owned by Classic Media.


FILMATION's deals with the studios were co-productions,with the bulk of the rights to the studios (which saved money!). That's why Filmation shows reverted to the owners of the shows - like Paramount,Warner Brothers,etc.

Knowing Fox, I'd say its unlikely they will do anything with any pre-1970 series. If by some miracle they did, I would put Bus Stop, Five Fingers and Man Who Never Was at the top of my list.

That's still pretty vague but it gives us some hope.

In the past VCI has responded by e-mail saying they were in negotiations with Fox. I would hope that these comments of "not long" that were made four months ago are an indication that things have chanced since then. I could care less if the final "Amos Burke" season with the changed format ever got to DVD, but S2 of the classic "Burke's Law" (with an incredible guest shot by one of my favorites, Nancy Kovack in the second episode of S2) is now with the completion of "Voyage", "The Fugitive" and "Dragnet" my #1 priority of a stalled title from the 60s.

Whatta shame. SyFy had the ENTIRE series on yesterday in HD in a marathon, and I didn't know about it. Only got to catch the last 2 episodes and was only able to record one of them. It looked spectacular, it appeared to me that the series had been remastered, although I admit that I don't have a trained eye.
