Did you ever get Dobie Gillis? Its on my want list of shows I haven't seen but pretty sure I will like. I noticed It has a Christmas episode in all 4 seasons and immediately thought "This is right up Gary's alley"

Just for fun I checked my Christmas TV episodes sheet to see how many I don't have that I want, and it's over 150 - and growing all the time as I research and find out about others I previously didn't know about. And the chances are that almost none of them will ever see the light of day. And that doesn't even count the ones I do have that desperately need an official, cleaned-up dvd release. Oh well, that's the way it goes.

Gary "guess I'll have to be happy with the 500+ I do have" O.

My grail list is short.

Shows in progress
Maverick
The Beverly Hillbillies
Cheyenne
Sugarfoot

Shows not released
Mayberry RFD
Bronco
Fantastic Journey

The great thing is I am finding new grail shows either through everyone here talking about them here or renting first seasons from Netflix like Have Gun Will Travel, Cheyenne, Adam 12, and Mannix.

I'd love to see a restored/uncut release of B.J. I have an unofficial set and the quality is decent on some shows and horrendous on others. There's also the two crossover episodes with Lobo on there. Come on, Universal!!!

Judith Lowry played the grandmother on PHYLLIS. She was the best facet of the show for me, and when she died between the first and second seasons, the show was never quite as good.I'd love to see it again.

I'd like to see St. Elsewhere and Lou Grant, but for real "Grail" status (and they're just as likely as finding the real Grail), it's:
1. Slattery's People (CBS) and
2. The Great Adventure (CBS).

I need to get me an unofficial too to hold me over. It's been so long. The only BJ I remember is the one where BJ thinks Bear died at the vet. That one must really be good to be the only one. I watched the show religiously in the day.

But yep..come on Universal!

Because I listed this as a Grail show I'm mentioning the report here:

Shout! has picked up rights to Newhart and has S2 scheduled for a February 11, 2014 release! Since this is a Fox property maybe this bodes well for other stalled shows from Fox - specifically The Bob Newhart Show since the two shows are related.

I've only been buying tv series sets for about 3 years so I'm adding titles as I discover shows. At first I was motivated by nostalgia so I bought shows from my childhood & teen years. Most shows from the late 70's & 80's & shows I watched in syndication like Kojak. Then I started to look at other shows from the 70's & gradually expanded that search to include the 50's & 60's. My list is always changing. To Finish:Police StoryThe RookiesPolice Woman Room 222 (Ha!)Medical CenterNew:Name of the GameN.Y.P.D. 60'sDragnet 50'sThe Bold OnesBatmanBlu Ray Miami ViceI'm sure I'll add more shows from the 50's & 60's as I learn more about them.

My most wanted shows are mostly stalled. My number one holy grail show is Barnaby Jones, followed closely by Sgt. Bilko. Other stalled shows I would like to see more seasons of are:

Bob Newhart Show
Ironside
Marcus Welby MD
Big Valley
Burke's Law
Love Boat
Police Story
One Step Beyond
McCloud
Fantasy Island

Several shows that used to be on my list, like Love American Style, Happy Days, and My Three Sons, have too many issues blocking any future releases, so I have given up hope of ever seeing more seasons of these.

I would like to see the following shows that have not been released.

The Rebel
Kraft Suspense Theater
Tightrope (big Mike Connors fan)

I hope all of this comes true with more releases someday.

These are not in any order other than "The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet" being number one and I know it's being worked on as I write this. Others:

Ozzie's Girls
Peyton Place
Bus Stop
The Detectives (Robert Taylor)
Dante (Howard Duff)
Mickey Mouse Club (original series beyond the few episodes Disney released)
77 Sunset Strip
Hawaiian Eye
Surfside Six
The Roaring 20's
Bourbon Street Beat
The Alaskans
Dragnet (original run from the 50's)
The Lineup

...among others.

Someone mentioned Julie, that would be interesting. I wish Shout would also finish Room 222. When I think about it I guess most titles have been released but when I see these lists maybe not?

Nice list! I'm down for more SNL, and the Japanese shows you mention. You Can't Do That On Television would be more than welcome at this point.
I always hated how the After School Specials were handled on dvd. Just randomly picked episodes that are now long out of print. The complete series needs to be released.

For my own Grail list:

-Ripley's Believe It Or Not with Jack, and Holly Palance for the early 80's

-St. Elsewhere/Hill Street Blues. Seriously what gives? I can't Speak about Hill Street, but It isn't Music rights holding St. Elsewhere back.

-Here's Boomer. OK this shouldn't be on any "grail list" but this early 80's dog show from NBC Friday nights was so goofy and fun, thatI'd love to see it again on dvd.

-Early Nick Sunday afternoon movies( 'The Million Dollar Hockey Puck'. and that weird Star Wars/ UFO type film with most of the cast of You Can't Do That On Television...forgot the name)

-The Misfits Of Science. Bad show maybe But I never saw the entire run.

-More Sid and MArty Kroft shows including Bigfoot and Wildboy
Blu-Ray Television releases

-Little House On the Prarie(UNCUT)

-Planet Of the Apes(1974)

-Lost In Space

-Space 1999 season 2

-Buck Rogers

-Battlestar Galactica

-Buffy The Vampire Slayer
