I was very happy to learn that Time/Life was exclusively offering the first season of the 70s sitcom, WHAT'S HAPPENING, but their website says it's on back order. Does this mean it's out of stock? Does anyone suspect that this will be out for retail consumption any time soon?

Count me in - I would buy the original ABC shows, but not the 80's syndicated rehash.

I'd buy the rehash. I haven't seen them in a while, but I thought they were fun at the time. It couldn't have lasted very long.

BTW, are you the owner of Rob's Place? ;)

Edit: Whoa. What's Happening Now!! lasted three seasons and 66 episodes! Much longer than I remembered.

I searched for this old thread to ask if anyone got theirs, as mine had been on backorder for a while. During the search, though, I checked my status, and it's now processing! Also, for the first time since I've been checking, the DVDs are listed as In Stock! So, if you want it, get it now. Could be a great Christmas present for someone.

Any impressions from anyone who has the set?

Hey hey hey,

I was pleasantly surprised by the picture
quality of the What's happening DVDs.

You'll be nervous at first since the picture
quality on the opening credits is pretty bad,
but the episodes themselves are very good quality.
There are no extras, but I didn't expect any,
and the price is right only $10 a disc.

Anybody who has fond memories of this show should
get this set, especially since I want it to
sell real well, so they'll put out Season 2.

I bought two of them, so I've done my part! Thanks for the :emoji_thumbsup: on the picture quality. As far as I know, there are no reviews of the set anywhere. Good to know things are okay with it.
