With a list that includes Mask 2 and Dirty Dancing 2?

As for Sharon Stone she has not done anything worthy to be mentioned since Casino or Intersection. (Not too many people like this flick). To be honest she's probably getting too much credit for Casino because a splendid cast was involved. Lord only knows why she did If These Walls could Talk 2. These days is she a C list actresses? I think so, that's quite a streak of not doing anything credible.

Halle Berry's Catwoman looks exactly like Eartha Kitt's catwoman....

Personally after seeing the trailer for Sky Captain I thought it looked pretty cool and plan to see it....

My prediction for biggest flop is Riddick. I worked on that movie and from what I saw it is an overblown mess. I do know that it went substantially over budegt.

On the other hand I did finally see the trailer and the trailer does make it look good...

The chances of this movie flopping are almost slim to none just off name value and the concept alone... It's also coming off of Freddy vs Jason which had a highly impressive opening...

Im thinking even if this film is bad, it will still have an excellent opening weekend just off the novelty value...

Chances are this will open to 30 something million just as Freddy vs Jason did... Possibly even up to 40 million...

This of course also depends on the trailer and promotion not being completely horrible...

I didn't want to read that! I have high hopes for this, I've been waiting for a follow-up to this for quite some time. I have to admit to me the trailer looks just ok :frowning:

I wouldn't underestimate Deisel's appeal in this role. Everyone I've spoke with who has viewed the trailer says they are there. Pitch Black is in more dvd collections than one would expect. I liked the film and viewed it first on dvd. So far I know of about $340 they are getting already. I predict suprise hit, but will gladly "eat crow" if it flops.

I'm sorry to have to tell people this, but I very much doubt "Catwoman" will bomb. Artistically, I could very well be a gigantic train wreck. But, Number one: it's got Halle Berry who somehow has managed to become the "Hottest" actress in the world, in a freakin cat suit! (Pretty much in the last year has hit number one on virtually all the big "Men's" magazine's top 100 list among other things. I personally find her looks to be a bit overrated, but that's me) Number 2: This is spun off of a hugely popular comic/film franchise. Number 3: We will be bombarded with marketing on this film soon (I can definatley see a Super Bowl ad)

It will make number one on it's opening weekend.

Not even close. Halle Berry has NEVER had a strong opening as a lead in a film. She may be "hot" on People magazine and Entertainment Tonight, but that has not translated into her opening movies well on her own. X-Men and X-Men 2 were ensemble films (you really think she had anything to do with their success? If anything she was one of the few negatives). The Bond film? You think she had anything to do with it's numbers? Please. Monster's Ball, good art film but not a high grosser. Gothika opened at #2 and sank fast, and so far has made less than $60 million.

I'm as heterosexual as they come, and I'm a BIG DC Comics fan (my collection is mostly DC, with a little marvel scattered in the corners). Having said that, I can honestly tell you that I have absolutely no intention or desire to see Catwoman AT ALL! It's a blatant T&A Cashgrab if I've ever seen one, and I'm frankly sick & tired of throwing money at this kind of drek simply because some attractive actress is going to show some skin.

NOTE TO WARNER BROS: If I want to see Halle Barry jiggle, I'll watch Swordfish. I don't need to be teased by Catwoman.

You want my $$$? Give me a good story with properly developed characters, and when you're basing the story on an established concept (i.e. comic books), at least make an attempt to stick to the core origins of the character.

What we're seeing here is Warner Bro's continued ignorance to their DC comics characters. Done right this could have been a real crowd-pleaser. If what I'm seeing & reading is correct, this movie is going to be a dismal flop, and will only serve to delay other DC comic book films.

Catwoman. Blech!

Moe.

Actually industry consensus seemed to be that Gothika was a surprise hit and proved that she could open a film. It was relatively low budget and has grossed more than any of the previous "Dark Castle" titles.

And if she wasn't in it, that movie would have been pushed to the side. It was a average movie, no better FearDotCom.

Any female lead could have played the part.

Don't expect more of the same with Riddick. From what I saw, and that was a lot, the movie is really more of a side stroy for the Riddick character than a sequel. It's not even in the same genre.

I am going to back my truck up a bit and say that I have chnaged my mind about it being a flop. I think it will be a fincially success, but I expect it to be a critical flop.

After Eartha was mugged and her costume torn to shreds, sure.

I don't get it. Through DC Comics, Warner owns some of the most recognizable comic book properties ever, and here they are turning them into unrecognizable "re-imaginings". I hope it flops badly, if only so maybe they realize they don't need to fix what's not broken.

That suit looks horrific. She looks she just walked out of porn film that has some connection with cats. This is a guaranteed critical flop, and probably a box offoice one as well.

Hmmmm. This will be my last comment about Catwoman because it appears the negative stream of comments are becoming a river. Especially since there are movies coming out in 04 that no one is beating to death like they should like, Dirty Dancing 2 for instance. Again I am not sure if the supporting cast is right for movie and I know nothing about the story, however let's lay off the Catwoman's suit a little. Many of you I am sure criticized Tim Burton's vision of the Batman suit 10 years ago. You are stating your opinion how you feel the movie will be based on the costume.

Hell, Les, I liked Tim Burton's vision of the Batman suit. It was still a suit. Not a bunch of shredded clothing. I'm sorry, but between that and the COMPLETELY LAUGHABLE official synopsis I've seen, it comes across as completely pathetic. Yes, I think Mask 2 will bomb, and Dirty Dancing 2 may. But would anyone have really expected Dirty Dancing to be a big success? What are the comparative budgets?

Added: Oh my lord, it says the Catwoman budget is 100 mil. I hope that's wrong.
