Has there been any new news reguarding Back To The Future coming to Bluray? Back To The Future is high up on my must purchase list and I am itching to own it in HD.

Not in this order but some of the films I am dying to own in HD Bluray.

1. Back To The Future Trilogy
2. Jurassic Park Trilogy
3. Indiana Jones Trilogy
4. Star Wars (Original Trilogy 4-6)
5. Star Wars 1-3
6. Saving Private Ryan
7. Gladiator
8. Braveheart
9. Da Vinci Code
10. Good, the Bad, the Ugly

I am so glad we will see the first two X-Men movies and Batman Quadrilogy on Bluray soon.

I am also interested in two other older films in HD.
Gone With The Wind
Wizard Of Oz
South Pacific

I've seen this title buried in a few lists already, but I just wanted to bring special attention to Contact. It was one of the first DVDs released in 1998, a special edition that still holds up pretty well today. The visuals (particularly the opening shot) and sound would be incredible in 1080p and Dolby TrueHD. Of course, the fact that it's a huge sentimental favorite of mine plays a part in my wanting it too.

IIRC, it was one of the first titles announced for Blu-ray, but we haven't seen or heard anything about it since. I've got my fingers crossed for 2009!

There are a lot that would be nice to have on Blu Ray, but not a lot that I would buy. The only movie/movies that I would actually buy are the Jurassic Park's. Other then that, I would buy many older titles that haven't been released yet. When it come's to Blu Ray, I try to keep up with the newer films more then the older ones.:frowning: But I would definetly buy the Jurassic Park series.

After giving some thought and seeing how well this format really can make black and white pop off of the screen, I do have a few ideas of what I would love to see. Granted these will not happen any time soon, but as the next generation, grows I can only hope that the Studios start to use this time to prep all of there catalog titles to this standard, that means remastering to hi def standards, not porting over an inferior product, the reason this is stated is that some of the films I am interested in have been restored, but the restoration, had glitches, sound drops, and such, so here we go

20th Century Fox

Charlie Chan Volume 1
Charlie Chan Volume 2
Charlie Chan Volume 3
Charlie Chan Volume 4
Charlie Chan Volume 5
Hitchcock- All Owned

MGM/Sony/Fox
Chanathology
And the remaining Monogram Chan Films
Kubrick-All Owned thank you Criterion

Universal

Classic Monsters Series
Universal Sci Fi Classics
Hitchcock- All Owned
Battlestar Galactica (BSG) Season Sets,
Caprica Complete Series US Release

Warner
Hammer Films
Hitchcock
Remaining Kubrick’s
Tarzan’s (all of them)
Looney Tunes
Tom& Jerry, all restored, all unedited, uncensored, complete set, from HB to Chuck Jones

MPI
Rathbone Sherlock Holmes Series

That would be a good start

You are not! An overlooked genre classic, IMO. Great performances, and tremendous fun! I was doing a forum search for it when I found your list.

About the Police Story blu-rays. They range from total crap to mediocre, and are Region A locked as well which my current player can't handle :-( http://www.dvdbeaver.com/film2/DVDReviews48/police_story_blu-ray.htm http://www.dvdbeaver.com/film2/DVDReviews49/police_story_2_blu-ray.htm http://www.avforums.com/movies/Police-Story-III-Super-Cop-review_10417/blu-ray.html Still waiting for Police Story on (quality) blu-ray.
