What I mean is, if you had to pick a short list (no more than five) songs that best describe your personality, your 'essense,' the way you think, or the way you act, what would those songs be?
This is not "what are your favorite songs?" although your favorites may be so because you feel they're about you... but even if you hate the song, and it describes a person that you relate to, add it to your list.
Again, try not to make it a 'my favorite songs' list...
    I'll start:
    1. "Medicine Bottle" by Red House Painters
    2. "Tears" by The Chameleons (UK)
    3. "True Happiness This Way Lies" and "Bluer Than Midnight" by The The
If some of them aren't too personal feel free to describe how they remind you, of YOU. If you'll notice I don't have any funny songs, and I should (hehe). But I'm a gloomy gus!

Diary of a dope fiend by Marilyn Manson.
    JUST KIDDING [IMG]
Actually it would probably be "The Nobodies"or "coma black" by Marilyn Manson. I change my mood too often to have one song represent me I guess.
    Peace,
    Eve

Right on!! I wasn't expecting many of the above songs to get mentioned but it means that..
    We're all pretty gloomy!
    [IMG] j/k
I might choose a Cocteau Twins song to represent 'who I am,' simply because, like many of their songs I am beautiful, ethereal, but it's damned impossible to understand a word I say! [IMG]
    Lene Lovich: "Home"
    Toad the Wet Sprocket: "Torn"
    New Model Army: "Purity"

The themes that certain songs convey, that I associate with intrinsically, are duality (i'm a twin), confusion (i'm a gemini also), purity vs. corruption.
There are times when I wish the 'wacky happy go lucky' tunes would represent me... but I think I'll always turn to the duplicitous stuff...

Way too many songs that relate to me or my friends and stuff. I've got a whole website full of relevant song quotes (http://home.dal.net/jhoff80/quotes.htm) but if i have to only pick a few, heres some that are fitting now
    "Bad Dream" by HED(pe)
    "Boy Crazy" by Newfound Glory
"Youth of the Nation" by POD
"Got Shot Down" by Shades Apart
Edit: Forgot the best one of them all:
    Primer 55- "Lessons"
    "Learn sh** the hard way,
    Takin' the wrong way
Always believing the lies they tell.
And i've learned my lessons well.
    Always the wrong place,
    Always the wrong time,
Always end up with my pride on the shelf,
    I always f*** myself
    Sorry I'm antisocial,
    But people make me sick.
Give me just one good reason,
I should put up with this.
    Everytime I turn my back,
I've got a knife in it."
