Found this snake on my back patio. Anyone know what kind it is? I'm in Alabama if that helps.
It fits the visual description of several Alabama snakes. It looks similar to a diamondback, a prairie kingsnake or a northern pine snake. You can see all three and several others here:

Your basic non-poisonous constrictor rodent-eating snake (Rat, Pine, Bull, Corn, King, whatever... ). He's probably enjoying a mouse problem you may not even know you have. This guy is your friend.
It's the triangular headed snakes you've got to worry about-
Oh I know we have some mice running around. We had a few in the garage a few months ago but haven't seen any in awhile. That's exactly why i let this little guy go when the wife say "kill it."
