I know there are lots of commercial cleaners out there, so has anyone found one to be better than another? How about scratches? Can those be removed? Or better yet, do you have a homemade solution that works?

no need for fancy cleaners.

1. breathe on disc
2. wipe with a soft cotton shirt

that's it.

ps - be sure to wipe from center straight to edge...do not wipe in circles.

really, most of those cleaners are nothing more then water with a little bit of cleanser. heck, if you really want to go for it, make yourself a diluted solution...but i still say it isn't necessary.

I recently saw an employee of Blockbuster cleaning a dvd with acetone-free nail polish remover.

My jaw dropped to the floor after he told me that's what the manager gave him.

I have never looked at the ingredients of cleaners, I am not sure if they are even listed on the containers, but nail polish remover?? Ouch!
