what happens when you dont run an Amp (1 Viewer)

I am trying to compare the SR-508 vs. NR-509 and one of the requirements for the NR-509 is it requires an Amplifier to run Zone2 speakers. What happens if you hook up speakers without buying the amp?

You have to have an amp for zone 2 because zone 2 just has pre-outs (RCA). It doesn't have speaker outs or any internal amplification to run a second zone.
