What do people here think about this fine actor(imo), who often is under-rated or under-used(depending on an occasion, for example the James Bond film).
I saw him first in an episode of "Cracker", I think, as a killer motivated by the Hillborough soccer riot. Equally great as a good guy or bad guy, and has a wide range. My favorite performance - Carlyle being bestial and dignified in Ravenous.
As Begbie in Trainspotting, he was hilariously uncontrollable and anarchic.
I also enjoyed Antonia Bird's Priest and Face. Robert Carlyle and Tom Wilkinson were superb in both these films.
No one ever seemes to talk about him, so i'm wondering if i'm the only one who thinks he's a great actor, and if there are others, what do you guys think has been his best perfomance?
