Hey, my second post!!

Anyway, I'm still using a Pro logic HT, and I'm planning to upgrade. My surround speakers are Cambridge soundworks "The Surround" -- not the 5.1 model, but the original dipolar. Can they possibly be used in any capacity, or are they now scrap?

Thanks,
Jim

You could eat them! :-D

mmmmmm..

and dipoles work fine in audio systems, in fact I use dipoles & bipoles for surround duties. So if they're perfectly good speakers and have suitable low-end near to your av amps crossover, and don't sound rubbish you can use them.

These dipoles were designed for Dolby Prologic -- where the rear channel was only something like 200 Hz - 14,000 Hz, or something like that. So these speakers can't play the full range of 5.1 dolby.

I'm thinking about selling the entire Prologic system this summer at a garage sale.

Use the receiver and speaker system for your computer.

Use it your garage / workshop.

Put it in your bedroom or kids' room.

Give it to your uncle who still thinks quadraphonic is the bee's knees.
