Whew, I'm glad to see a few people listed some C64 games in their list. (When you only had 64k to program with, gameplay was essential!) I was starting to think I might be the only thirtysomething person here. Okay, I'm going to reach back into my pre-teen, and teenage gaming memories for a few of these.
10. Elite (C64) Great game!
9. Zak Mackraken (C64)
8. All the Zork Adventures (Apple ][)
7. Paperboy (Arcade)
6. Dragon's Lair (Arcade)
5. Tempest 2000 (Jaguar and Playstation)
4. Any of the Need for Speed games
3. Klax (My mother became so addicted to this game, I gave her my Atari Lynx!)
2. Mappy
1. Any Pac-Man game

I'm hardly qualified to decide on the 10 most fun games ever, but from the limited number I've played, I've really loved (in no particular order):
Tetris (GB)
Super Mario Bros. 1 / 2 / 3 (NES)
Super Mario World (SNES)
Super Mario Kart (SNES)
Tempest 2000 (Jaguar)
Wolfenstein 3D (Jaguar) - Best version ever!
Doom (PC)
Mortal Kombat II (Arcade / SNES)
As you can see, the early '90s were my gaming heyday, and I obviously prefer action games. One day I'll have to look into this "RPG" thing that seems to be so popular. ;)
