Went into my local Costco this morning to drop off a prescription. And I saw a couple of the employees hovering around a pallet. I walked up and it was a pallet with about a dozen or more PS 3's. It was a 60mg system bundled with a wireless controller and the Genji game. It was $699. I was not going to buy one right now. But, I picked it up and figured I could either sell it on Ebay, return it or get it and see if any of my friends or family needed one and couldn't get it. I had to be escorted to a special register to pay for it. My friends think I should keep it...And I want to. But, my wife is putting the big kabosh on it. I can try to convince her tonight. ;)

eBay prices are flat because Sony's actually been able to resupply quickly... So don't count on big profits...

To be honest. I didn't buy it for an ebay sale. More the hope I can convince my wife to let me have one. :D

Yeah, I happened to be in my local Wal-Mart when a dozen PS3s were delivered. I *almost* bought a few to sell on Ebay but didn't because I wasn't sure where prices were. I'm glad I didn't buy any because many are barely going for over retail right now.

I walked into Best Buy today and they had a huge pallet of PS3s (60GB) on the floor. People were picking them up, but not too quickly (although they'll be gone by the end of the day, I'm sure). No one was injured that I could see. Anyway, Sony, I'm impressed!

As for me ... I'll wait till all the (inevitable) bugs are confirmed and ironed out, and/or I hit that jackpot. Until then, I can see movies of all the pretty graphics online.

More than one person went up to the employee "guarding" the pile and asked him about the Wii. He said that's been the most demanded console this season, and by far the hardest to keep in stock, despite getting more of those than the PS3.

I ended up returning the PS3. I figured I would let someone who really wanted to get it for X-Mas buy it. Plus I might go with the Xbox 360 which is a lot cheaper.

One of my local Wal-Mart stores got in a 20gig and a 60gig PS3 last week and they were still there yesterday at 4PM. My best friend's step-mom works in electronics at that store and said the opinion of shoppers has been that the PS3 has some bad glitches (they've had quite a few returns for units crashing), overpriced and the games are no better than 360 games. Most of the people who have been looking at the PS3 are looking for a game console, not a next gen entertainment hub, and would much rather buy a Wii or a 360 for less money and have a better selection of good games.
