Thanks, yes the chair is very very dusty/dirty, LOL. I wanted it for reference for sitting views. My riser is only 8" high, but I had my wife site behind on it and she has a clear view of the screen and when I reclined she could see the floor in front of me over my head(if that makes sense :)).

I get to start the taping/mudding now and have to be done by Friday, So I can start the wall fabric Sat, Trim work Sun/Mon(thank goodness for a holiday) and hook up all the electronics Tues-Thur and the carpet is coming that next Friday the 10th.

I wasnt expecting to finish in 28 days, but Its looking like that now :)

Then is RELAXING TIME for about, well a long time :):)

Hi Shanice,

Well a drywall lift makes puting drywall on the ceiling alot easier(still a pain though). You cut your drywall to fit the spot(on the ceiling) and then put it on the lift and crank in up, fit it into place and screw it in the ceiling, then lower the lift. Without a lift you would need at least 2 guys for 4x8 sheets and 3 guys for 4x12 sheets of drywall.

For securing a wall to the floor:

Once the wall is in place a 22 shell in this device put the nail in the end and hit it with a hammer, it puts the nail right into the concrete. Ask at you hardware store, they will have what you need.

SteveFred, why did you hang the drywall top to bottom as opposed to left to right like I see in so many other pictures? Does that make it easier and does it make a difference? It is so encouraging that you have had so much progress on your HT. I like seeing the pictures of your progress.

Hi Again,

Well I did put the 4x12 sheets up on the ceiling, as for the walls, its much easier to hang 4x8 sheet myself, then trying to get the second 4x12 sheet on top of the first one. Yes its a little more mudding, but its no biggy, plus the walls will have a wall fabric on them when I am doe :)

Looking good Steve.

I'm glad to hear that your riser height is not going to be an issue.

Keep it up. It's hard to keep going, but the end goal will be worth it. I am trying not to run out of energy. I have my first child due in five weeks and want my theater done before then, so that's pretty good motivation for me.

Hi everyone,

The third coat is done on the ceiling, so its time to do a little sanding(and hope the frick thing is smooth) and prime the ceiling tonight and paint it Friday. I am using a flat black "Beluga Black" for Behr paints.

Pics of the ceiling will be tomorrow :)

Hi,

I guess the only thing I would have done different is pay someone to mud the drywall, its so tedious*. But luckily I did a decent job and the dark ceiling hides a few spots that I can see, but anyone else probably will not see :)

My furniture is being delivered on the 10th, same day as the carpet :). So if the Lexicon RV-8 makes it by next weekend, my HT will be complete and ready for Packers in HD on Monday night football(Sept 13th):emoji_thumbsup: :emoji_thumbsup: :emoji_thumbsup:

I am soooo glad that we finished the wall fabric. Wayne "Funlvr1965" came over and was a HUGE help today. It was nice having 3 of us put up the fabric.

Here are 2 pics of the fabric(spots in pic are particals in the air reflecting off the flash). Wood on top of gray fabric is just to hold it into place until fully cured.

Well construction is complete

Here are some pics of the chair rail and the mess I have to clean up, eheheh. Next is Cleaning up, Hook up the electrical, mount the screen, then projector and the equipment.

I also have to go buy in-wall speakers for the 6th and 7th channels. The Rocket 150's for the back are too big.

Steve, that looks great. Good job!

Have you given any thought to how, or if, you are are going to decorate? Movie posters?

Steve,
Looking at the equipment rack raises a question... Are your penetrations going to be large enough? Those little things make a big difference when you have to change things later. Anyway looking good...

Demetrius---I knocked out the entire back of the cabinet tonight. I just left it there until I was finished with the HT room. :)

Thomas...Thanks :) No I havent thought of what to put on the walls yet.

I just finished wiring the outlets and lights and put up 7 of the 8 wall sconces. They are perfect for the room :)
