You can tell the Fall Television season is about to begin...when the Weekly RoundUp gets top-heavy with releases of TV season from the past year. And this is one of those weeks!

Personally, The Good Wife is a MUST buy for me. But NOT @ $44.99. That price will need to drop quite a bit before I pull the trigger. It's killin' me that I haven't pre-ordered TGW: Season 7.

And I'm going to be waiting on reviews before I purchase the new release of High Noon.

Safe shopping, RoundUppers!! And thanks in advance for any "likes" of the OP this week. I just want you folks to know how much I appreciate your feedback.

Thanks, Mike! RAH has given a thumbs up to High Noon 2.0 so that is now a safe purchase. Currently $17 on Amazon for the BD.

Cat People will be purchased at the next B&N sale.

Thanks, Mike, but I'm not getting anything this week. Beauty and the Beast is one of about maybe ten films where I love it enough to shamelessly double dip for new extras, and the new stuff on the re-release does sound substantial enough that I will eventually get it, but since I already have the older Blu-ray edition, I'm not doing that again for $22.99 or $24.99 or anything in that neighborhood. So, I'll keep an eye on that around Black Friday and hope for a sale.

Otherwise, I'm taking a breather this week.

Thanks for the RoundUp, Mike!

Disney dropped me an e-mail informing me that the new Beauty and the Beast was coming, so I'd imagine it'll be here Monday. I'm currently working on Gunsmoke - Season 12, notable as its first season in color. Several others in the list I've requested but have no idea if they're coming or not. We'll just have to wait and see.

I would happily spend a few hundred dollars on a "Complete Series" Blu-Ray set of "The Good Wife". But I won't buy the DVDs at any price. I just can't bring myself to spend money on a lower quality product than what I got for free via rabbit ears.

It looks like Amazon's price matching Walmart.com on this one. After RAH's rave about the PQ, if that price holds for Site to Store on Tuesday, I'll pull the trigger then. Yet another sale Amazon has lost because of the high bar it's set for super saver free shipping.

I've got High Noon and Johnny Guitar coming.
Johnny Guitar is finally in it's OAR and it's the same price as High Noon at $16.99. RAH gave a high recommendation for both releases.

Also, though, Amazon for some strange reason, doesn't have them available right now, the following Stephen King novels adapted to film are coming out this week on Blu-ray. Salem's Lot, Cat's Eye and It. Retailers like Barnes & Noble and Best Buy have them available for order.

I've got the Blu-ray of Beware! The Blob on pre-order, and I'll get the 2 volumes that make up Gunsmoke: Season 12 when the price comes down a bit.

Thanks, Mike!

Thanks for the Roundup

High Noon and Johnny Guitar are pre-ordered through Best Buy (which makes ICFOS free shipping when released in October) TMNT prolly when it's cheaper around Black Friday ...

Thanks for the RoundUp, pardner! Excellent job as always.
Wonderful news from RAH regarding Olive's Signature Series. Makes it easier for me to justify the double-dipping (triple dip on High Noon if I count the Republic DVD)!

My pre-orders for this week:

The Enemy Below
Fixed Bayonets!
High Noon (Signature Series)
Johnny Guitar (Signature Series)

Along with others, I'm holding off on the Criterion releases for the next B&N sale.

Technically I would be quadrupling - I (had) VHS, and have Artisan DVD, Olive Bluray and will get the Signature bluray for $3.00 more than I paid for the "unsigned" bluray (I bought used)

Neighbors 2 at some point...loved the first movie and missed the second in theaters. But that's a Black Friday movie for $9.99 or something like that.

Otherwise, that's pretty much it...

Thanks Mike!

Since I came to the TGW party late in its run, I HAD to buy the DVDs to get caught up on the series (during season 5, I think). So I've been buying them now--when released--to complete the earlier purchases.

But $44.99??? That's nuts. I've still got much of the final season on my DVR. Every once in a while I'll watch an episode. This is most definitely a title which will wait until it falls into a realistic price. Season 5 is currently $22.xx on Amazon. Season 6 = $17.91!!

Even if TGW: S7 had been selling for $29.99 on Amazon I would likely have pulled the trigger for a release day shipping. I'm not sure what their strategy is with a price of $44.99.

And I'm with ya about buying a complete series set on Blu, Adam! :D
