The Disclaimer

Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp
. The titles included are those that I am interested in...as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don't get paid for this, and I don't have the time to list every DVD. So, please don't complain!
If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, PLEASE just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

Note that I cannot include Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club prices in the RoundUp. They set prices at individual stores based on nearby competition, so there is no way I can say here what price you'll find at YOUR local Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club location. And, Circuit City is still out of business...even in Hawaii (where they NEVER guaranteed their prices anyway).

Thanks Mike. Quiet week for me.

For some reason I expect to hear a lot of that this week, Adam. This is one of the weakest weeks in a long time.

I suspect the item of most interest will be S1 of ST: TNG.

I would love to hear from anyone in-the-know about the Game of Thrones: S1 release. It seems we've already seen that release and, frankly, I've been seeing it show up in other "new release" lists over the past several weeks. Most of those listings I have ignored. This one seems legit.

I believe the re-issue is due to this "controversy": http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/hbo-game-of-thrones-bush-severed-head-edited-338315

I'm not sure if they've revised the commentary track that makes mention of it...

It's apparently a reissue lacking the image of George W. Bush's head on a stick in episode 10. There may be additional features compared to the original release, I don't know. I have not watched it yet, so I sure am not going to buy the new one.

I think Steve is right as the original release has been discontinued. There is a "super deluxe" BD/DVD/Digital Copy with extra features edition coming in November as well.

Next Gen. Blu ray. Sold.

I'd like Human Planet and Firefly, too, along with some extra seasons of BSG at $20 a pop...but I've budgeted for Next Gen (along with the Fathom event on Monday night).

And Mike...thank you for getting the cast picture for S1 right. It's the little things like the picture that make me happy. And you know, it's all about keeping me happy. (Totally kidding, in case anyone didn't get the sarcasm.)

Thanks as always for the RoundUp.

I'll be posting the review for The Untouchables: Season 4, Volume 1 later today. I still have three episodes to go on it.

They Made Me a Fugitive immediately caught my eye, but of course the next thing to catch my eye was the ever-unyielding Kino price of $25, so, as others are saying with respect to the expenses we all know are coming up, that one will have to go on my list but wait for some more convenient buying time in the future.

Unless I should hear that the BD transfer of The Island of Dr. Moreau turns out to be a disaster in some way, I will absolutely do a DVD trade-in for that at Best Buy. Glad to see the trade-up promo continues till 8/11. I'll have to do another walk-through because I have several DVDs here that are worth somewhere between nothing, zilch, and nada on Amazon at the present time.

Thanks, as always, Mike!

Just returned from Best Buy and wanted to let people know that they also had "Meet the Robinsons 3D" for $19.99. Obviously with U&S came out to $14.99.

Matt: do the owners keep you locked in a basement or something?!?

I don't know how you find the time to go through all these titles!
