Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed advertisements, the Sunday of the week of release (so as to catch any week-of-release sale prices). All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price. If a price is marked "$_N/A_" in the grid, it means that this title is not shown as available on that chain's website or perhaps in their ads...but it COULD still be in-stores!

$_"LP" means the advertisement says "Low Price", and $_"HP" means the advertisement says "Hot Price". Use of either of these in the Roundup grid indicates that I could not locate a definate price for the item, and the ad is all I have to go on. Retailers use these phrases in advertisements so that they do not violate MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) agreements with the studios. Doing so can cost them thousands or even millions of dollars in co-op advertising funds.

I only include the titles I feel like including. In fact, the titles are pretty much the ones I'm personally interested in, with few exceptions. I don't get paid for this, and I don't have time to devote to doing every DVD. I have a lovely wife and a five-year-old son I'd rather spend time with. Please don't complain. If there is a title not included in the Roundup that you want to see, just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone...like I do!

Note that Circuit City does not guarantee their sale prices in Hawaii.

* BE CAREFUL! Old School and Biker Boyz are each available in both Widescreen and Fullscreen versions...get the correct one.

* Jungle Book 2 comes with a movie ticket good for getting into free threatrical presentations of either Finding Nemo or Pirates of the Carribean.

* Target has a free 2-Liter bottle of 7-Up for you if you buy Jungle Book 2, whose "Low Price" is $17.99.

* Circuit City will take $10 off your purchase of Buffy - Season 4 if you also buy either S1, S2, or S3 on the same transaction.

* Best Buy will have Buffy - Season 4 for $45.99, and S2 and S3 for the same price. S1 will be $29.99. However, they also have some combo deals: buy any 2 of those on the same receipt and save $15; buy any 3 and save $30, and if you buy all 4 you will save $50. The last deal gets you every episode of Buffy: The Vampire Slayer available to the general public on R1 DVD for just $117.96. That's $1.51 per episode, if you're counting. :) Oh, all Buffy episodes are in their Original Aspect Ratio...so don't even go there.

* The new round of Warner 2-Disc Special Editions are out this week, and they are a great batch. Non-flipper versions of The Right Stuff and Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, plus Once Upon A Time In America and - finally - Giant. Best Buy will take $5 off your total if you purchase any two of these on the same transaction.

* Best Buy's not done with the combo deals yet: Buy Tears of the Sun for $17.99, and you may also purchase Stripes for $4.99. Or get Old School (on sale for $14.99 alone) together with Road Trip for $25.

* Are you collecting the Canadian releases of Beast Wars? Volume 4 releases this week, and you can get it from Videoflicks for $16.99 US, or from Amazon.CA for $14.23 US by today's conversion rate.

The latest markdowns according to VideoTropics web site (DVD Title/Old SRP/New SRP):
-------------------------
None...I guess last week was plenty! By-the-way, the source for those Paramount title markdowns listed in last week's Roundup must have been bad, because I didn't see a single markdown taken on those. :frowning: Sorry for steering you wrong...it seemed plausible enough. I guess I'm just too trusting.

Once again David, great job on the roundup, always appreciated. This week ill be picking up both of the brady bunch movies, whats the difference between the brady movies sold seperately and the 2 pack, only the box? If thats all i will buy them seperatelly, i dont think its worth the extra money , just for a box.

Humor for you all:
My friend noticed that they were selling The Best of Arli$$ Vol. 1 and commented, "That's a mighty expensive price for a blank DVD". :)

Thanks David. Great roundup and much appreciated.

Thanks for another early Roundup, Dave.

Man, what a week! All four Warner SEs, Buffy 4, Frida, PLUS new Steely Dan & Radiohead SE CDs (and a DVD-A for the Steely Dan as well)... WHEW! In addition some of Best Buy's combo deals on older DVDs & games are tempting.

I'm eatin' Ramen this week!! ;)

As always, thanks Dave.

I think I'll preorder most of my wants online this week.

There are many highly anticipated releases, but I can wait to receive them. I've got many unopened in the que as it is.

The B&M pricing for the Warner titles this week is close enough to the online pricing when you account for no tax, free shipping and one less trip to the store. Besides, it's a good week to use some Amazon GCs I've accumulated from taking surveys.

I'll be picking up the following this week (* = Maybe B&M):

Giant - Special Edition
Manhunter (Restored Director's Edition)*
Once Upon a Time in America (Two-Disc Special Edition)
The Right Stuff (Two-Disc Special Edition)
Robin Hood - Prince of Thieves (Two-Disc Special Extended Edition)
Tears of the Sun*

I was thinking something similar!

Though I have to say Robert Wuhl is a good sport about it. There was a benefit comedy show in LA last year where Triumph the Insult Comic Dog just ripped on ARLI$$ (among other things) and then Robert Wuhl actually came out on stage and took it in stride. Very funny stuff.

Like always David, you are a true force to be reckoned with. I've been relying on these Roundups for a while now AND sending others to them every Sunday.

That's a nice deal on all the Buffy seasons. Too bad they couldn't go out of their way to knock of 5 bucks for people who already own Seasons 1 - 3. Oh well, I guess I shall hit Costco or Sams Club or BJs. Now I just need to find someone with a card for them. Still, it the deal converts more to Buffy, I'm all for it. :)

Looks to be a very expensive week for me. I was going to post about Coconuts price on Buffy but looks like I got beat to it.

Does anyone know if Buffy season 3 has been fixed? I had to return my season 3 to Best Buy a while ago. They pulled them off the shelves and said they have been recalled. Is it safe to get season 3? Thanks.
