Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, the week of the release (so as to catch any week-of-release sale prices). All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price. If a price is marked "$_N/A_" in the grid, it means that this title is not shown as available on that chain's website...but it COULD still be in-stores!

* For those of you who are Sex And The City fans, but haven't bought any of the DVDs yet at all, Best Buy will let you save $20 when you buy all three season box sets at once. Or, if you already own one of the sets and need the other two, pick up any two and save $10.
* Best Buy is also taking $5 off the total purchase if you buy How High and something called State Property on the same transaction. I'm not familiar with the 2nd title, and it is not on the Roundup; sorry.
* As you may have noticed, I'm also not listing on the Roundup this week the double-dips of Men In Black and Stuart Little, or the Pan-Scan Fox douple-dips, nor anything that's Pan-Scan for that matter. But yet I list Street Sharks and the Teletubbies; so sue me! :p)
* On the other hand, I *am* listing a DVD full of some of my favorite music videos from the '80's (I think you can pick out the title on the Roundup! :D ). 14 MTV-type videos from that era: The Buggles: Video Killed The Radio Star/ABC: The Look Of Love/Tears For Fears: Shout/Big Country: In A Big Country/Dexy's Midnight Runners: Come On Eileen/Dan Hartman: I Can Dream About You/Asia: Heat Of The Moment/Night Ranger: Sister Christian/Swing Out Sister: Breakout/Animotion: Obsession/Berlin: No More Words/Level 42: Something About You/Squeeze: Tempted/Tears For Fears: Everybody Wants To Rule The World. Can anyone name the song from that list which came from a movie soundtrack? C'mon; that's an easy one! :D
* Those of you interest in Agnes of God, since I found it prior to street date I can tell you that it IS an anamorphic transfer, despite not being labeled as such on the box. Also, the box lists "Theatrical Trailers", but neither of them are for Agnes of God. Typical Columbia/TriStar stuff. :frowning:
* Target's has Vanilla Sky for $17.99, How High for "Low Price", Sex & The City Season 3 for $39.99, and all three marked-down films based on Tom Clancy novels individually for just $12.99. Cool; I need two of those!
* K-Mart has Vanilla Sky for $19.95.

I mentioned this in another thread, but one of my local Circuit City locations has already marked The Full Monty down to a $12.99 sticker price. It rang up as $9.99, though; your mileage may vary.
David, is Out Cold a P&S title? I have no interest in it whatsoever, but SalesCircular lists it as a Tuesday release ($19.99 at both BB and CC).

WARNING !!!
David isn't mentioning them in detail in the roundup, and most of us will ignore them, but as a public service be aware that a lot of Pan-n-Scan garbage hits the street this week, including:
Fox's P&S movie-only versions of:
THE ABYSS
ANNA AND THE KING
BIG MOMMA'S HOUSE
CAST AWAY
EDWARD SCISSORHANDS
ENTRAPMENT
INDEPENDENCE DAY
LAKE PLACID
MEN OF HONOR
PREDATOR
Also, don't bother with:
84 CHARING CROSS ROAD
THE JOURNEY OF NATTY GANN
STUART LITTLE: DELUXE EDITION
There may be others I've missed. Man, what a sad day for OAR. Don't be fooled. The message is that you have to more careful than ever about what you casually pick up to buy.

Is everyone waiting on Vanilla sky or buying it now? Maybe not at all because a lot seem not to like it? ;)
I heard that Crowe is working on a documentary for the film and there will possibly be a better special edition coming out in the future. I would hate to have to buy it twice.

Thanks again David. With Legend, Memento & Sex in the City, it's going to be an expensive week. Do you know if the Tom Clancy films are anamorphic?

John-

I have both Clear and Present Danger and the Hunt for Red October. Both are NOT anamorphic, but widescreen (2.35:1 I think). I don't know about Patriot Games, but I would guess non anamorphic on that one as well.

Everybody Knows it's Dan Hartman from the Streets of Fire
sound track. :)
Looks like I will have to pick up that 80's DVD :b
Keep up the great work Dave.

Also at Target they have Glory:SE, Stand by Me:SE, and Legends of the Fall:SE for $12.99. The only problem is a lot of the Target's have told me that it is the regular version that is on sale. To this I said no problem. I went over to best buy and had them price match. It is the SE that is pictured but at the store it is the regular version that is on sale. Just go price match somewhere else.

Well, I'll be price-matching with Best Buy's ad anyway, but am I the only one who didn't even see Memento in the Circuit City ad?

Everyone: I'm not sure what Best Buy's plan is, but it has come to my attention that State Property has been delayed until next week (5/28), per Image Entertainment's website and verified at Amazon. Unless BB has some sort of exclusive week-in-advance deal, I wonder how they will handle this $5-off-when-bought-with-How High deal?
THANKS!! Sex and Legend at Costco for me.
Yeah, I think I'll go get some Sex at Costco, too! :b :emoji_thumbsup:
Oh, and thanks to Dave Lawson...the missus has been interested in The Full Monty (for obvious reasons!) for a while now. I'll check into that at CC when I go to pick up Pure 80s Rocks.
Anyway, you're all welcome! Again! :) :) :)

Thanks for the updates Dave!
I just thought I'd let you know (since you mentioned your love for 80's videos), that the following discs were released a few weeks back that have additional music videos (just in case you missed them):
The Greatest DVD Music Collection: Greatest Hits
The Greatest DVD Music Collection: Greatest Love
The Greatest DVD Music Collection: Big Hits
The Greatest DVD Music Collection: Love Songs
The Greatest DVD Music Collection: Dance Hits
The Greatest DVD Music Collection: Rock Heroes
The Greatest DVD Music Collection: Dance Classics
The Greatest DVD Music Collection: Best Of New Wave
The Greatest DVD Music Collection: More New Wave
And rounding out the series is a 70's collection:
The Greatest DVD Music Collection: Greatest Hits Of The 70's
You can find details and track listings at the following site:
http://www.ben-int.cz/ben_productfor...uct=DVD_titles
The collections include videos from Duran Duran, Limahl, Living In A Box, Culture Club, Johnny Hates Jazz, ABC and more.

Blake, I do appreciate you trying to point me toward that collection. I've already looked at it though, and didn't like what I saw. You see, despite the "Greatest" moniker, in my mind there isn't a single one of those discs with more than half of the volume (and often much less than half) that is "A" material.

It seems like they got rights to a handful of really GOOD stuff, and that they could have made one or two really GREAT discs with nothing but the "A" material. But instead they choose to make a whole slew of discs, duplicate some of the videos on multiple discs, and round out the volumes with a bunch of "B" (and even some "C") grade material.

Compare these to the one I put in the Roundup: the only song I don't know and don't consider a huge 80's hit is the one from Level 42...and it's possible that I'll recognize it when I hear it!

On these others: No sale for me, thanks.

I wasn't able to get to BB or CC for last week's sales, and I wanted both "From Hell" and "The Others." Just FYI, Circuit City still has both titles for $18.99. Not as good as first week, but still at a reduced price. :)
Best Buy also has "Monkeybone" for $9.99 :D

I don't think that $12.99 is the price for Legend at CompUSA. The way that I read the ad is that the price is listed below the title which would make Legend $19.97 and Stuart Little as the title for $12.99.:frowning:

James D is correct; the price falls below the title name, not above. If the reverse were true, that would be one hell of a price on Sex And The City.

David, you'll definitely know the Level 42 song when you hear it. I would post the lyrics, but they wouldn't help much. You'll recognize it once the intro begins. It's one of the better songs on there, IMHO.
