I went to Best Buy yesterday and picked up all 4 of the Miyazaki releases. I asked if I could open up the discs to get the $2 coupon and they let me use one of those, but not two of them. There was no apparent rebate offer as far as I could see. Still, full cost including tax was less than $59 for 4 DVDs, so I am pleased.

When you have a title like this (Ran Masterworks Edition) coming out, its going to be hit or miss when it comes to the B&M's. If I kept track of all the times I went looking for a NON-Mainstream title on release date in my area I would have a failure rate of at least 85%. The main problem I have with dealing with B&M's is that they treat titles like this as something that is only a collector's title and not appealing to the Joe 6 pack crowd. Unless it's a major title like "Harry Pothead & the Stoned Sorcerer" that sells millions of copies, they don't want to deal with it. Thats why when it comes to NON-mainstream titles it's better to order from a good on line e-tailer. That way you get it delivered to your house without having to jack-ass all over the place only to be disappointed at the end of the day. I do all of my on line ordering from www.dvdplanet.com. I ordered "Ran" on Tuesday afternoon and received it yesterday(Saturday).
