Remember - all of this week's new releases should become eligible for DDD's 20% off sale on Tuesday. This will be your best price for most of this stuff.

You may want to cancel that order. They're $19.75 at DDD, on Tuesday you should be able to order them with one of the 20% off codes, which will bring them to $15.80 apiece (free shipping, no sales tax).

Mike, just a nitpick here - you have "Frasier" - Complete Series listed. I believe that's really a bundle of all 8 seasons released to date (1 through 7, and the 11th & final season). Seasons 8, 9 & 10 aren't included, so it's not really the complete series.

Thanks as always to you (and Pat) for all your hard work in doing this every week!

George: I was wondering about you this week. What's your decision going to be on TSoM? Give it a whirl?! :D Discussions over in software are interesting. And you're not interested in Oklahoma or State Fair?

Jeremy: Another case of "I dunno" from me. Amazon was the only one who listed this for this week. I went and checked my lists for upcoming weeks and found nothing. The one thing that Amazon said (although they never use the word "exclusive") was that this was to commemorate the 63rd anniversary of the sinking of the Juneau.

If anyone can elaborate on this release, that would be great!

From amazon.com:

The Guts and Glory of the Navy! This is the movie that inspired "Saving Private Ryan." It's the true story of five brothers who fought and died together when their ship, the American cruiser Juneau, was sunk in the South Pacific during World War II. The Fighting Sullivans is something more than a worthy tribute to a pair of small town parents and the five sons they lost when the Juneau blew up in a battle off Guadalcanal on November 13, 1942. It is a heartwarming slice of Americana that will fill in the background of any number of Americans on the fighting front. The audience's awareness of the news in store for the Sullivan family adds considerably to the film's effect. The Fighting Sullivans generates emotion strictly on it's own terms and without bidding for tears. This Commemorative Edition marks the 63rd anniversary of the sinking of the Juneau. DVD features: 2005 Interview with Frank Holmgren (last living survivor of the sinking)| Video Inside the 5 Sullivan Brothers Veterans Museum| A message from Bob Neymeyer of the Grout Museum| Family Photos| Last Muster List| Memorials from family members| Survivor List| Juneau Action account letter by Lieutenant Roger W O'Neil – Mc-V (G) U S Naval Reserve| Personal Letters| Letter from President Franklin D Roosevelt| New Digital Transfer| Original Theatrical Trailer.

AND, coverart:

I was tempted to cancel my Amazon order for the Bruce Springsteen set, but then I realized I would only save $0.10, after I paid sales tax at Target. So, I've decided to keep the order with Amazon.

If I'm reading Robert Harris right, Sound of Music is an improvement, just still flawed. So, I'm probably going to get it. While I like some of the music in Oklahoma, I was none too enamored of the story, especially the parts with Rod Steiger's character. And I don't think I've seen State Fair (except for maybe the Pat Boone version and/or way too long ago to remember).

Well, let me put in a plug for the 1945 version of State Fair. While maybe not a great film, you've got the Oscar-winning "It Might as Well Be Spring" (Jeanne Crain sitting dreamily in her bedroom window!) and the ever-catchy "Our State Fair" to start things off. And, and all-star cast which includes Crain, Dana Andrews, Dick Haymes, Vivian Blaine, Fay Bainter, Frank McHugh and Harry Morgan. Not much for plot, but great fun! A great film for 5-year old son to watch for some "middle America historical perspective". :D

And, I've never seen the '62 version. :b

As for your disinterest in Oklahoma, I am surprised.

What did you think of Chicken Little? I plan on staying away.

Nothing for me this week although the I'll probably pick up a couple of those $10 titles at Target. I also have a ton of stuff order from DDD w/ 20% coupon. The wife is going to kill me.

Well, not the greatest thing ever made by Disney, but suprisingly enjoyable. I was laughing quite a lot. On the other hand, it dragged in spots, which for a film this short, means that the story could have been better. The music was nothing special, though better than Tarzan for instance. Like, I said, it's not going to replace Snow White or Toy Story, but I thought it was good.

The only title I'll be getting from a B&M this week is Scrubs S2. I can't wait for DDD to ship it, plus I want the Best Buy Exclusive disc.

The rest of what I'll be purchasing this week (new release-wise and otherwise) is from DDD (Home Movies S3, The Sound of Music, and lots of other junk).

Any info on getting the Friends special box that holds all the sets? I thought I read somewhere that it would be available separately. Nothing on their web site, so maybe in the Season 10 box?
