The Disclaimer

Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in...as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don't get paid for this, and I don't have the time to list every DVD. So, please don't complain! If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, PLEASE just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

Note that I cannot include Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club prices in the RoundUp. They set prices at individual stores based on nearby competition, so there is no way I can say here what price you'll find at YOUR local Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club location. And, Circuit City is still out of business...even in Hawaii (where they NEVER guaranteed their prices anyway).

FWIW, anyone who is a fan of the TV program The Amazing Race...Amazon has dramatically dropped the price on the first eleven seasons.

They are now mostly priced at $17.49/season.

Seasons 1, 2 & 7 had been released commercially on DVD. Seasons 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10 and 11 had been released on DVD-R.

These season sets had been selling for $31 - $32. I had been carrying several in my cart for years. It was a very easy pull of the trigger for me to pick up those sets which I did not have.

CBS issued a number of seasons of Survivor in the same way. First, some DVD season sets...then they went to the DVD-R model.

Definitely picking up Stalag 17. It's one of my personal favorites. I also plan in picking up I Married a Witch. There are some others I'm interested in renting or eventually buying. Thanks as always, Mike.

No reason why it should be Saturday at midnight anymore.Antiquated reasoning since ads are published on saturday mornings in the newspaper and they can be found on other web sites sometimes weeks in advance with no repercussion from the retailers.

Interesting tidbit related to the movie Jumbo.A former movie theater in Philly was named for the packaderm.Surviving as a shadow of its former self is the Jumbo Theatre. This 1,300 seat theatre was constructed in 1909 to the designs of Carl Berger and renovated in 1912 by Hoffman-Henon Co. Seen here in 1916, the theater is covered with signs about its “5 cent reels.” Said to be one of the largest theaters in the city when it opened, it showed films into the 1960s. As evidenced by the huge elephant sign suspended over the front doors, the theater was named after the famous elephant that P.T. Barnum bought from the London Zoo in 1882. The elephant was given the name Jumbo by the zookeepers and through Barnum’s publicity machine, Jumbo became synonymous with “huge.” (Remember that the next time you order a jumbo popcorn at the movies!) Recently operated as “Global Thrift,” the façade had been insensitively covered. The building is currently being converted into a dollar store and the paneling has been removed, exposing the original ornamental brickwork. The proscenium arch inside had survived until this spring. - See more at: http://www.phillyhistory.org/blog/index.php/2011/06/neighborhood-movie-theaters/#sthash.AxIobcuR.dpuf

Was surprised and delighted to see the RoundUp a day early.

I haven't received I Married a Witch from Criterion yet. If it comes today, I'll have that review up tonight since the disc is light on bonus material. If not, Much Ado About Nothing will go up tonight with Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea coming on Sunday and then I tackle Bones and White Collar once I finish up with this previous week's Glee.

I can't wait to add Stalag 17 to my collection. Have always loved the movie.

unfortunately Mike, it looks like your BestBuy glitch struck again. Most of the titles are $19.99 (it looks like some have been adjusted).Otherwise, I am glad to see it early.

That's a good price for The Exorcist at Best Buy, I'm sure Amazon will eventually match it. Also plan to pick up Hangover III.

Unfortunately, David Dias...David Weicker was right and my Best Buy prices were again attacked by gremlins.

All BB prices have been corrected and adjusted in the OP.

Sorry for ANY confusion or disappointment.

Stalag 17 for sure. One of the best up there with Casablanca for me.
