Dear Guys;

What WB shows HAVEN'T been released on DVD yet?
I'm thinking there's"
Maverick
Eight is Enough
77 Sunset Strip

And some other tv westerns.

And they have yet to finish
The Waltons
Superboy

I know they have oodles and oodles of animated fair from Hanna-Barbara and other WB properties they could release?

But what other unreleased programs do they have that they haven't touched yet? It might be a good idea of familarize ourselves with what WB has in their library before the chat.

James, I think you'll find that this thread will, in all likelihood, be quickly locked. HTF policy is that we don't have conversations about anything that prepares members for an upcoming studio chat. Not to penalize the members, but because the idea of the chat is to make it completely spontaneous for the studio people to answer questions "from the hip" rather than have a prepared answer.

This type of conversation really is quite borderline for that policy, but I think it probably leans on the wrong side of that line. For example, if this thread continues and everyone starts saying how much they want 77 Sunset Strip, then the studio will walk into the chat with a stock answer prepared for that item, changing the potential outcome of the chat.

I should point out in all fairness to HTF members, though, that I couldn't find a reminder of that policy in the announcement for the chat. The only way I think someone would know not to post these kinds of threads would either to have been around in others chats from previous years, or else to happen to have been involved in one of the other threads that have been locked for having a "get ready for the chat" discussion.

Waltons comes out with 1 or 2 season sets each year, always in January or in the April-May timeframe. That means any announcements would come in Oct/Nov for a Jan release, or in Jan/Feb/Mar for an Apr/May release.

As for Superboy, I've posted the following information at TVGuide.com's DVD Blog last May, explaining why everyone should give that one up for now:

Just seen David's post after spending hours listing Warner Shows, I have not posted because of the impending chat which am not even sure when it is as am in the UK. Apologies if listing the shows will cause a problem hope not but maybe be a way for people to look without posting requests maybe

The studio reps are well aware of what titles have high interest,and I'm sure they are well prepared with all the information handy when conducting a chat to discus all titles.

Guess there's a fine line between being prepared with information and stock answers.

I think WB would do well If they released Eight Is Enough Its not only a great one hour family show.But also I believe it would have the same appeal as other one hour family shows that have been releasesd on dvd such as Little House On The Praire and The Waltons.

based on that list, I have zero desire to buy any of them except maybe Banyon to go with Banacek.

Dear Guys;

This is James. The originator of the thread. I apologize for the inapropos of the question. I was just trying to remember everything WB had, so what I could ask for when the chat occurred.

David, thanks for the heads up in letting me know about my faux pas.

Regardless, Nikki that was a great deal of work you did providing those answers. And my own personal WB favorites were somehow missed (Wizards and Warriors and Duck Dodgers).

If I put anybody on the spot. I'm sorry.

James

The FBI and The Girl From U.N.C.L.E. top the WB-TV list for me, along with the classic detective shows that kept the ABC network afloat from 1958-64:

77 Sunset Strip
Hawaiian Eye
Bourbon Street Beat
Surfside 6

Fans of U.N.C.L.E. and Star Trek should look into The Lieutenant- it was co-produced by U.N.C.L.E. boss Sam Rolfe and Trek creator Gene Roddenberry, who created the characters and wrote a great deal of it. Also, actors from both later series (Gary Lockwood, Robert Vaughn, Leonard Nimoy) were featured in it.
