1. San Francisco (1936) starring Clark Gable & Jeanette MacDonald
2. Gaslight (1944) starring Charles Boyer & Ingrid Bergman
3. The Picture of Dorian Gray (1945) starring George Sanders & Hurd Hatfield

These are all M-G-M productions from the good old days. I have all 3 on M-G-M issued LDs(The yellow ones) & I'd love to have nice DVDs of them. :)

The Picture Of Dorian Gray is one of the best "little known" films I've seen from its time.

This film needs extra care to make sure the Technicolor insert shots look as good as possible.

Yes, messing up the Technicolor inserts would be a major goof. I just love Angela Lansbury in this film, God she was lovely.

Of all the studios, Warner's been the slackest in releasing catalogue titles I seek; unfortunately, this also means a considerable amount from MGM. Hopefully, this will change, and begin with the following:

1.Adventures of Robin Hood, The
2.Battle of the Bulge
3.Captain Blood
4.Captain Horatio Hornblower
5.Casablanca (colorized)
6.Charge of the Light Brigade, The (Flynn)
7.Death Wish 2
8.Flame and the Arrow, The
9.Once Upon a Tome in America
10.Santa Fe Trail
11.Sea Hawk, The
12.Skin Game
13.There Was a Crooked Man
14.They Died With Their Boots On

MGM:

1.Adventures of Don Juan, The
2.Beau Brummell
3.Death Wish 3
4.Ice Station Zebra
5.Ivanhoe
6.Kim
7.Knights of the Round Table
8.Mutiny on the Bounty (Gable & Brando)
9.Prisoner of Zenda, The (Granger)
10.Where Eagles Dare
11.Young Bess

Doug,

Not at all an oversight. While most of the colorizations I've watched were abyssmal, Casablanca is, in my opinion, a resounding success.

I believe this is an MGM/Warner.

On Borrowed Time (1939)
ith Lionel Barrymore as "Gramps" holding Death up a tree.

I hear you are releasing "Finian's Rainbow" any consideration for releasing the 1969 "Goodbye Mr Chips" as a companion?

Bob,
I respect your opinion, but I fear that if they were to do Casablanca colorized based on requests, then there's the danger that it could open the floodgates to all those other abysmal ones.
Maybe the DVD could feature the original B&W and the colorized versions on the one Special edition.

I think Fox may have done this with the Shirley Temple DVDs.
