That's superb news. Both are highly entertaining, and I am a big fan of the Allied Artists widescreen westerns. When they turn up on TV they have usually been pan & scan and look awful. Thanks for the tip. I'm going to order them asap!

The Archives released the final Errol Flynn costume epic (THE WARRIORS, 1955) this week without even sending out an email announcement of it. At least, one wasn't sent to me, although I usually receive weekly mailings from the Archives.

I made my first blind buy of an Archive title this year - The Secret Heart - this sounds like a terrific film and decided to go for it (nice cast as well ! )

I haven't seen that one either, but its on my wishlist, along with the rest of this June Allyson batch. I agree - very nice cast.

The copy of "Hearts Of The West" that I picked up at the post office today has "Remastered Edition" in a red banner on the front of the cover. Was there an earlier edition that needed remastering? This DVD looks fine; it's a movie I saw a few times on release and it had a very gauzy, filtered look in the theatre.

I don't know if "Hearts of the West" has been re-released. The 'Remastered' banner appears on many WA discs - and doesn't always mean they have been reissued from an earlier disc, although WA has reissued a few titles under their 'Remastered' banner; "I Love Melvin" comes to mind (originally released by WA in 2009 and 'Remastered' in 2011).

Is Hell on Frisco Bay (Alan Ladd) a Warners title, and if so when is it coming out?

"Hell on Frisco Bay" is indeed a Warner title. Maybe want to ask that question on the Warner Archive's Facebook page.

This is a day one purchase for me!

Hasn't WarnerArchive released Blu-rays in pairs? I wonder what else may be released!

I don't think "Kismet" was released alongside another title (or it may have and I never noticed), but the Archive Blu's are certainly picking up momentum these days.
