i have jensen spx speakers which i find too bright ...too hard ...and too forward....is there any thing i can do to warm the sound and make it more layed back...can i spray something on the cones or stuff the boxes with something ?????????

Do you have the speakers facing your listening position directly? Do you have smooth reflective surfaces anywhere - polished floor, glass-topped table in front, smooth walls? Have you played with speaker positioning to determine the optimum placement in your room?

Those are often bigger causes of brightness than the speakers themselves. I would suggest trying these, since they're free, before spending money or trying to modify the speakers.

Whoa, don't be spraying anything on the cones, that will totally mess things up. Break-in will be the only thing to do what you want them to do, but only to an extent.
