Hi, I was gonna make a sub box using the Illusion audio nd15. I was wondering if anyone has experience using Dynaudio's Variovent in their enclosures? Any input is appreciated.
Welcome! If you are using a 15" driver you will probably need several. The Variovent was designed for 5.25-6" speakers. Aperodic enclosures are kinda trail and error. Also most sucessful sub designs I have heard the front wave is completly seperated from the rear. Difficult to do in a house vs a car IMHO. Also Aperodic enclosures not not "loud" which is why most do not use then in HT.
I did a 15" in a car may years ago using Speaker Works AP (aperodic) mats and loved it. But did have to play with it for months. Adding and removing the material for the correct density/tuning. Try Parts Express or Madisound forum. Some guru will probably help you out more than I.
