Wow. Twilight Time's first 3D release. Very interested to hear from
Bob Furmanek about Man In The Dark and how it fares with the classic
3D genre.

I love the older Woody Allen films, but willing to give (what I presume to
be) his more serious movies The Front and Crimes and Misdemeanors
a try.

Many will be very happy about Zulu due those that found the UK BD lacking PQ-wise. The same with The Blue Max that has a European release. There's about 4-5 titles that I'll buy from TT.

So, MAN IN THE DARK was the "mysterious" 50's golden-age 3D TT had kept us in the dark about for a year?
Well. it's a....sign of good things, if they can do................more vintage 3D titles down the road.

On the upside, I guess I can go ahead and get Mad Magician from PSN now, after all.

The Eddy Duchin Story is a fine thing. If you like musical dramas and/or Kim Novak, give it a try.

a try.

Ronald, Crimes and Misdemeanors is probably unique for Woody Allen in that it's a half-and-half film. There are two parallel stories which don't meet up until the end, one is fairly typical funny Woody (like Annie Hall, Manhattan, etc), whilst the other is black-serious, though both examine the same themes.

For me, Crimes and Misdemeanors is his best, most complete film, though I'm sure we all have our own favourites.

If you like his funny stuff you'll like the funny story, and that'll probably be a good way to appreciate the other story - that's just my point of view.

Steve, appreciate that.

When I was a teen I couldn't get enough of Woody Allen.

Loved all his early films.

Then came Manhattan....and at that time, I was very disappointed
at the serious turn. In subsequent years, I became more appreciative
of that film.

But I don't believe I really enjoyed any of his films beyond that, except
for perhaps The Purple Rose of Cairo and some of his recent efforts.

If MGM/Fox released it - $14.99
Twilight Time will probably release it at $34.99

Maybe not $30 difference but even so it's a lot more money for a slim release.

I think this was the first film released in 3D by a major studio - beat House of Wax by a day or two. Black and white, 70 minutes and probably in the 1.33:1 aspect ratio or 1.85:1?

This is an exciting list of releases. Bravo to Twilight Time for securing them!

Ron, Woody Allen merely stars in The Front. He didn't direct it. It's a superb film about the era of the blacklist made by people who were blacklisted back in the day.

I agree about Crimes and Misdemeanors. I think it's his best film in that it shows both the lighter and darker ranges of his talent, and it's a film that haunts you long after it's over.
