Aaah, yes, of course that makes sense! Using composite connecters with edge enhancement would lead to a much better picture than component or VGA outputs, wouldn't it!

Wow! It allows you to personalise the gaming enhancement for any gaming title, including RPGs, sports sims, adventure games and flight sims! I was really worried that the thing wouldn't support FIFA titles, but it does!
Also, "the VGE has controls to change from 32/64-bit clarity to 128-bit, depending on the console or DVD player", which is a relief, because my Playstation uses a different RCA format to output than my Dreamcast does!
Can! I! Use! A! Few! More! Exclamation! Marks?!!!!

Update - I found a review, complete with Soul Calibur grabs.
Here is the screenshot page. See how the original SC grab looks a bit blurry, but generally lovely. Then look at the two 'enhanced' ones. Yuck! Apparently, enhancement really consists of knocking the contrast totally out of whack so everything turns into a glowing mess.
