Last night we went to a brand new Big Lots in our area..just opened yesterday. Picked up the following:

Thundercats Season Two, Volume Two - $6
The All-New Scooby Doo Movies - $6
Animaniacs Volume One - $6
Pink and the Brain Volume Two - $6

They also had some of the re-released Thundercats Season One DVDs, but they're not that great of a deal, since you have to buy 6 of them to complete season one at $6 each.

Haven't been fortunate enough to come across any Smallville, Wonder Woman or Lois and Clark :(

Also got the Dark Crystal Colletor's Edition for only $3 and a great Monty Python and the Holy Grail collector's box set for $8

The $3 WB sets are in the ad for Sunday the 26th, *but* lots of stores are putting them out early. The one here put out a batch Tuesday, and a few different Wednesday (but not all of the ones listed below). Typically these would go out the Saturday before the sale (tomorrow) so I'll check once more just in case. The $6 sets were in the ad for Sunday, the 12th, but some stores still have a decent stock. All of these are YMMV as to where or not a local store gets some. I've read reports of people visiting 4-6 different stores to complete Friends, Lois & Clark, Flintstones, etc.

Just to whet your appetite, here's a partial list of what's been reported found:

The Batman vs Dracula (w/figurines) $3
Wonder Woman (all 3 seasons in a box set) $6
Wonder Woman 1,2,3 $6/ea
Mission Hill $3
Appleseed Ex Machina Steelbook $3
Popeye the Sailor: 1933-1938, Vol. 1 $3
Looney Tunes v2, v3, v6 $3
OC Seasons 2,3
$6
Roots 30th Anniversary $6
Blade: The Series $6
Murphy Brown Season 1 $3
Tracey Takes On Season 1 $3
Agatha Christie Collection 3 movies w/Helen Hayes $3

Challenge of the Super Friends $6
Batman/Super Animated Set 1 double pack $3
Batman The Animated Series 1,2,3,4 $3

The Golden sets.

I've seen about 1/2 that list spread across the 4 stores in my area. I haven't seen any of the 'big' sets like the Loony Tunes or multi-season Wonder Woman, but they have definitely have been sold to some lucky sob's

Well, I finally picked up on:

The Flintstones Season 1,2,3 (Just Arrived)
Popeye Volume 1

Looks like Big Lots are getting different titles/different sets each week and they are all Warner Brothers. I have yet to find these:

Babylon 5 The Movie Collection
Flintstones Season 4-6
Dukes of Hazzard Season 5
Lois and Clark Season 4

Anyone have any extras of Flintstones Season 4-6?

I didn't go out, just called a couple of the locations. The cashiers I talked to were all very pleasant and took time to thoroughly check. No new stock here since early last last week. Will try again Tuesday and Wed.

I've only seen 3 copies of a Flintstones S4. I picked up one of them and left the other two which are probably long gone by now.

The Tales From The Crypt sets are all gone (only for the moment hopefully).

I've actually started to watch some of these in the last couple days. The Popeye cartoons I've seen are a blast. Pebbles and Bam Bam was more amusing than I thought it would be (seeing Pebbles drawn in a Dan DeCarlo style certainly doesn't hurt). I'm now very glad I got the Flintstones sets and will likely pick up any more I don't have- if I ever see 'em. I figured I lived happily enough without them all this time that a couple seasons would be more than enough, but I forgot how entertaining this show was. It holds up well seeing it with an adults eyes.

There is only one BL located near me. Earlier this week, I didn't find anything worth getting, a friend of mine didn't see anything yesterday but today I bought these:

Birdman and the Galaxy Trio: the Complete Series
Dastardly & Muttley in their Flying Machines: the Complete Series
The Huckleberry Hound Show: Vol. 1
Josie and the Pussycats: the Complete Series
The Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm Show: the Complete Series
Tales From the Crypt: the Complete Third Season
Tales From the Crypt: the Complete Fifth Season
Top Cat: the Complete Series

The store didn't have any other Tales From the Crypt sets and only 1 or 2 copies of most of what I bought. If I had waited, I wouldn't have gotten most of these. They had a lot of Flintstones sets but I noticed a lot of these and a few other sets weren't shrink wrapped. I wonder if these were sets purchased elsewhere then returned. I wanted Batman: the Animated Series Vol. 2 but it wasn't there. I recently ordered Vol. 1 and Superman: the Animated Series Vol.1 through Amazon, so today I find both of those sets bundled together for $3... oh well.

I would keep checking your Big Lots stores every week because they are getting alternating stock and alternating titles. This is the third shipment of different titles over the past three weeks ... I'm hoping to see more choices when I check them out tomorrow and then later on in the week.

Man, talk about cleaned out - the Big Lots near me had all 7 seasons of Dallas, most of the Ducks of Hazard and Thindercats volume 1 and 2. When I went back a couple of days ago - nothing. Picked clean aside from the usual crap that doesn't seem to move. Ah well, I'll keep trying and see if I get lucky.

I have never seen the Ducks of Hazzard before. Is that a cartoon about ducks?

Man, you're so lucky. Dallas and Dukes? I'd pick up the Dallas sets just at that $3 price. That's a real steal even if you're not a big fan. Still a great show. Who Shot JR. I remember when that epsiode originally aired.

Wish my local Big Lots would get more Dukes of Hazzard sets in. They only had one set in when I checked them out.

[/QUOTE]That's surprising to me since G Men is one of my all-time Cagney favorites. I remember waiting a long time for that release. Now here it is for $3 ?

I've heard rumors that WHV dropped 2 million DVDs and box sets into Big Lots. Better that destroying them, I guess.
