The Big Country. When you have an old VHS tape of a TV broadcast with better colour, then there's something seriously wrong.

I loved Deep Impact and I hate the fact that it is an improperly flagged non 16x9 transfer.

The following Columbia/TriStar titles are all abominable and in desperate need of proper remastering. In fact, they look much, much worse than a lot of non-anamorphic transfers I've seen:

Fearless Hyena

and the uncut, widescreen, original language editions of

Once Upon a Time in China
Once Upon a Time in China 2
Once Upon a Time in China 3

Miracles (the same crappy transfer just re-released under the title Black Dragon)

(The Once Upon a Time in China trilogy and Miracles/Black Dragon DVDs also all have the English language dubbed versions, some of which are cut and pan and scan... and invariably, the English language versions are the ones that look fairly decent (apart from being P&S)! But the original versions are close to unwatchable.

Plus two Jim Carrey titles:

Ace Ventura, Pet Detective (in OAR please!)
The Mask (whatever happened to that SE?)

All of Miramax's LD ports, top on my list: Sirens

Many of Warner's earlier efforts including Man Who Would Be King and Outland.

MGM's horrid foreign cinema releases, top of the list Jean de Florrette and Manon des Sources.

Anything released P&S only when it should be widescreen.

I believe I read that this title is actually "open matte", so nothing is missing from the sides, there is just extra material on the top and bottom. Can anyone confirm this?

When I started this thread I wasn't really thinking of movies that weren't released in OAR, but since other's have mentioned it, here's another to add to the list;

Fierce Creatures is in P&S!

Believe it or not, I am adding High Society to this list. Good transfer, but the shimmering found on Frank Sinatra's suit during the earlier scenes is excessive, like during the Who Want's To Be A Millionaire number with Celeste Holmes. A big surpise as this is very much not typical with Warner's releases. These scenes are almost unwatchable.

I also vote that The Apartment is about the worst "anamorphic" transfer I have seen..

Others on my list:
Vertigo (anamorphic upgrade)
Psycho (anamorphic upgrade)
Summertime
Midnight Cowboy
Graduate
Oklahoma
King and I
South Pacific
Sound of Music
Cabaret
Pillow Talk

...I'm just starting, I could go on and on

Great thread!

I agree with many of the titles mentioned, but I would like to add to that weren't, unless I missed them:

Mr. Mom
Victory

There is a LOT of scenery in Sirens...;)

Beautiful Girls needs an upgrade as well, as does Man Who Went Up a Hill But Came Down a Mountain - which is almost a stylewise compliment to Sirens.
