One remarkable thing about this image is that not only did all the idividual photos that make it up have to be selected from night photos, but they had to further discriminate by eliminating all photos with clouds.

This one's been floating around for awhile. I had it as my wallpaper and thought the "lights" were added and not the actual lights as seen from space.

However, I'd assume that being from such a website (NASA) that it's legit.

The most amazing thing about that picture is the very distinct line that is visible on the Korean peninsula. South Korea is very bright and North Korea is very dark.

I'd hope they had a few lights and development :)

The term "darkest Africa" still seems to hold true. Australia looks pretty empty, too.
